We were lucky to catch up with Logan Woods recently and have shared our conversation below.
Logan , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. How did you learn to do what you do? Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process? What skills do you think were most essential? What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?
Music was something that always came natural to me. However, I learned along the way that there is a difference between doing it as a hobby and doing it professionally. I had to learn things like song structure, how to market myself, and understanding the music business. Honestly, nothing could have sped up my learning process because it all came together organically and I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way! The most essentials skilled I learned were how to build a fanbase from scratch, recording myself at home, and building my brand. I think an obstacle most artists face is finding ways to financially fund your career while also still having to survive. It can be hard but it’s not impossible!
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am a recording artist, songwriter, vocal producer, and engineer based in Atlanta, GA. I started singing around age 2 and writing songs in middle school. From there, I kept going and decided to take music seriously in 2021. After that, the rest was history! I’m most proud of being able to pursue this 100% without giving up, even in the hardest times that people don’t get to see. The main thing I want my fans to know about the Logan Woods brand is that everything here is about authenticity, and I want to encourage others to live fully in their truth as well.
How did you build your audience on social media?
Building a social media presence was a slow grind for me. There is no one way to do it. What I will say is that you have to be super consistent to see results and thats with anything in life. Also, find what works for you and try not to compare yourself to other creatives.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
Before 2021, I thought I was going to work a traditional 9-5 and continue to make music as my little secret hobby. However, in my first year of working my big girl job I became really depressed. I felt like I didn’t belong in that field and something kept pulling me closer to music. However, the thought of quitting my job was scary too because I didn’t know exactly what was next. I listened to my intuition and quit my job, From that moment, my career started taking off and I was so shocked. In life, you really have to trust the process and listen to your gut feeling.
