Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Logan Will Cochran & Dan Shapiro. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Logan & Dan, thanks for joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
Our personal mission statement here at Overthrow Booking is “Help for all!”
We work toward providing equal show opportunities to bands/musicians of any size, genre or level of experience. As musicians ourselves, we know how hard it is to book shows when starting out. Our goal is to make the excitement of hitting the stage variable for anyone willing. We work with local and national acts to build the best shows possible, and allow artist to grow in a supportive environment.

Logan & Dan, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Overthrow Booking is made up of Dan and Logan Will, two musicians with a combined nearly 20 years of experience as live performers. In our shared experience, we have found ourselves in musical acts from a wide range of genre. We found that there are a lot of amazing booking companies out there that have a way with talking to artist that are themselves artist, but at the same time there are bookers who won’t give new acts the time of day.
As we found ourselves booking our own band, New Monarchy, making tons of connections and thinking to ourselves “why aren’t we using these connections to help others grow?” So that’s exactly what we are doing.
We work to provide equal opportunity for growth by helping book local and national bands in the capital region of New York.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
As artists helping artists, the best place we have been able to spread the word of what we do is at local shows. Having a human interaction with someone while you support their work fosters a strong relationship, and helps show that we truly care about our clients growth.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
While planning a week long tour for a group of touring bands, 5 of 7 shows that were previously secured fell through. We had to work fast to make sure these bands didn’t lose out on playing shows and making needed connections. Even from states away, we were able to quickly pivot without burning bridges and establish new connections. In a way, having venues/bands step away for one reason to another, was an opportunity to meet more people in our community and provide more resources for the future.
