We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Logan Slaughter a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Logan, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?

My parents always told me to follow my gut, and go with my dreams. I was never told that any of my dreams were too little or too big. I was told that if I wanted to do it, it was possible. That has truly stuck with me my entire life.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

My name is Logan Joseph. I own Radiant Light Candle Co. It is a LGBTQIA+ and Sober owned candle company. On top of that in 2024 we are beginning to roll out our bath and body products as well. My products don’t “solve a problem” more so they filled a void. I found that you couldn’t find a fantastic performing, chic looking candle for under 100 dollars. So I decided to make that. I am most proud of the fact that I am a one man shop. I do everything from the formulations, to the pouring, to the label design, to the packaging, to the Mail Drop off.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

My authenticity. I am one of those people who should be forward facing in my business. I have the personality for it. I am a people person. I am able to naturally connect with people. At vendor events when people come into my space, it never feels like a sales pitch, I genuinely enjoy talking to people, if they buy a product that’s a plus. I think it’s a necessity to be true to yourself, and I am also a firm believer that not everyone should be forward facing. Some people do not have the personality, nor the people skills for it.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

The final product. Knowing people enjoy it. Each product is made with so much love. It undergoes months of testing, then a few select people test it themselves, then I release to the public. When that public product is well received there is nothing like it. It is the same feeling I used to get from the applause of an audience when I was a performer.
