We were lucky to catch up with Logan Peterson recently and have shared our conversation below.
Logan, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Are you happier as a business owner? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job?
Stepping out and creating my own business has been one of my best decisions. Prior to being a personal trainer I was a middle school teacher/coach. I loved teaching but it was physically and emotionally draining on me and my family by the demands and hours I was putting in.
While I was home with my girls I realized that when I was teaching I was showing/teaching children how to be healthy and take care of their bodies. But they are not 100% in control of their bodies and what they can do.
I saw moms struggling with what they saw in the mirror as well as time management. I realized that if I can become a personal trainer and show and teach moms how to make simple yet effective changes into their lifestyles not only will they reap the benefits but their families will as well. I could make that generational impact for years to come.
This is when I knew that I made the right step and created Logan Peterson Training, my programming is a lifestyle that includes a structured yet flexible plan to incorporate physical activity, healthy meal prep, and some much needed “me time” for women who lead busy family lives that are wanting to tweak their physique and look like they workout! Showing women how to treat their physiqueThink of it as MPOWERED The M stands for Mom, movement, meals and Me time for moms.
I have seen several clients succeed in their health and wellness goals and see the fire in their eyes. This is how I know that by taking that leap of faith I made the right decision becoming my own business owner.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Before becoming a Personal Trainer I was a middle school PE teacher. After stepping out the classroom I knew that I still wanted to make an impact. Yes I could teach children how to take care of themselves and eat healthy but it truly starts with the parents. I knew that if I could show women (mothers) how to properly take care of themselves and how to make healthy family meals, I could make a generational impact.
I love when clients come to me and tell me how they are loving themselves and what they see in the mirror. They are putting on an outfit and feel confident going out. Their families are enjoying meals and they are all being active outside. I am helping that mom feel better which is also giving her the energy to be active with her kids instead of sitting on the sideline.

Have you ever had to pivot?
When my youngest went into elementary school that is when I made a big pivot in my business. I always said that while my kids were here they would get my attention, that I wouldn’t be the mother that was always on their phone and telling their kids to hold on.
When she went into kindergarten I was able to open more slots to see face to face clients as well as virtual clients. I have been able to make a bigger impact on women in my community and get them to a happier and healthier self. I have also done park and neighborhood workouts for the community.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
I know you might be looking for a complicated answer but the truth is to just be yourself. Do not compare yourself to others in your industry wishing you were where they are. You are on your own path and making an impact in someone’s life so just remember that.
