Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Logan Morgan. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Logan, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
Honestly in highschool I had the idea I wanted to cut hair. I wasn’t too sure how I’d do it or what fully I wanted to do with a skill like this at that time. Little freshman me only knew he wanted this to be his career, his lifestyle, a lifestyle of freedom and expression. It was only once I got out of highschool and after did my little runaround with other odd placement jobs that I actually took my first initial step into this lifestyle, that was joining barber college! What had intrigued me the most was the freedom and social aspects of pretty much never feeling like I’m working a day in life. As time moved on I only continued to build even more love for my art changing people’s outlooks of themselves! Knowing my own heart I love to socialize and make people happy, being a barber was my outlet of creating a whole life experience that revolved around exactly that!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Currently at 22 years old I’ve been cutting hair for going on almost 5 years total now, it all started with just simply paying attention to my own barbers. I would hangout and watch my personal barbers do haircuts and really get a feel for the experience. As time continued I did my little practice runs on a few friends, eventually working my way into college really trying to legitimize myself into becoming an authentic licensed barber. I was a bit of an outsider kid, an underdog you might say. Moving my way into barbering not only allowed me to realize my love and passion for what I do but also find my true purpose I feel like god genuinely blessed me with. As I started to see my progression with my work I started to realize what type of level I really wanted to take myself to with this skill I’ve been so very blessed to have. My spark started to grow further and further as time went on pushing me to make a jump from my small hometown Piqua, Ohio out to currently Hollywood in Los Angeles, California! The sky is the limit, once you realize that all it takes is a little push from yourself to get the ball rolling!

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
All throughout each of our journeys we will endure trials and tribulations, for me what made me realize I was different was the way I stood out. I always seemed to be the black sheep in the room, for some reason I just never fit in. That’s okay, you aren’t supposed to fit in! For me understanding that I was meant to stray away from the regular guidelines of your typical barber really helped me, once you lean into your calling rather than fighting it you start to see what was really meant for you! Having faith has helped me a lot through this process as I haven’t had to feel like I’m alone, I have someone there at any moment I need to lean on and that’s God! In return I have also been blessed with solid connections with people throughout my experience which have been crucial through my own personal stages in my journey as well, people that relate to my principles and morals building community between us. Sometimes you’re meant to understand that you don’t always have to follow the crowd to be what you truly are supposed to be!

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
Sometimes you will have curveballs thrown at you through your process, sometimes things don’t always align to what they seem to be. I’ve had first hand experiences where I stepped into environments that ultimately weren’t meant to be for me and my best interest. In these moments it can get very tough and even discouraging at times but you have to follow your heart and never give up. Sometimes a lesson is just a redirection into new experiences that are 10x bigger than what you may have let yourself think you deserved. There was a point in San Diego where I felt as if a part of my dreams had broken and crumbled, I got into my head and got very discouraged. The journey isn’t always smooth sailing but for me instead of giving up and going back to comfortable surroundings I decided to follow what god had put into my heart, that move for me was leaving to Hollywood and continuing to focus on what I truly came to do. These experiences aren’t meant to break us but to make us realize not only our own worth but our strength and resilience if you just don’t let the negative thoughts win over your mind!
