We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Logan Dean a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Logan thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
My grandfather is an oil painter and art instructor so I’ve been lucky enough to have art in my life for as long as I can remember. Creativity was fostered and encouraged in my home and I was supported fully by my family (even when I made no money which is usually)
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I work in the production and design of tabletop games. Previously I was the product development manager for Joking Hazard/Cyanide & Happiness before becoming a freelance producer for larger publishers. I coordinate crowdfunds, organize manufacturing and sea freight and also develop new games.
In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
With the implosion of Social Media, it becoming harder for artists to reach any outside audience without marketing. Sharing things you like with friends and coworkers can help artist reach new audience.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
I believe is for and can inspire everyone and I work toward making art equitable.
