We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Logan Cooper a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Logan, appreciate you joining us today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
To me, success is different for everyone. Personally, leaving a lasting impact on people is my ultimate goal. I grew up kind of a shy and secluded kid that has always had a passion for the arts. I have always wanted to show to people what I can create and share art together. It makes the world go round, truly. Those beautiful, meaningful connections along the way make the whole experience worth it!
In high school I wanted to find myself, so I tried everything I possibly could and said yes to as many things as possible. In doing this, I became a background actor on Billionaire Boys Club, a movie featuring well known names. I have been front row watching America’s Got Talent, I drove from Missouri to LA non-stop with a friend, got an early viewing of Riverdale before it came out officially and even got to see a Billboards Music Award.
These experiences and the things I have learned from them made me see the world for the fun, loving place it is. To me this is success, getting to be yourself and say yes to amazing opportunities.
Logan, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I have always had a fascination with the creative side of things. In middle school I would make YouTube challenge videos on an old Canon and edit on whatever app I could find at the moment. In high-school I would review marketing jobs and positions and see what they required and if I was a good fit. This is where I started creating a resume. I noticed I could solve issues with my graphic design, marketing and photography. People need graphics, people need good photos and people need to market them!
When 2020 hit I really buckled down and taught myself various apps and told myself it’s time to really rework that portfolio. So, naturally, for the past four years I have done just that. I have a routine after work that I have done for around two of those four years of designing a mock brand with a clear identity and some mock ups with some helpful videos in the background. This helps me establish the meaning behind a brand and the various designs and organizing needed to run a functional one.
What really helped me in the aspect of design was working with Offbeat Media remotely. Here I was assigned Snapchat tiles, eye-catching thumbnails that can summarize a short video in one single image. I did this up until early 2024 where I am now a painter, and still working on this growth.
As far as photography I have really picked up on it as of this year, 2024. Because I don’t have as many subjects to shoot I started shooting nature photography and making mock brand photoshoots with items around my room. I periodically upload my best ones, with color graded edits and post them to my portfolio and separately on LinkedIn as well. To me, showing your work and growth will pay off. I am proud of how far I have came with this and my determination and fast creativity set me apart from others. A self starter who can also jump right into an idea with other team members and figure out the best possible solutions.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Absolutely, my goal is to connect with other creatives local and not local! And, I would love to eventually join a great company and be able to work on my passions full time.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative is the result. Putting in hard work and thought into something you’re passionate by and seeing the outcome of that. Art can be created in various ways and humans also interpret it in various ways as well. You can create something that will motivate people, surprise people, educate people or get the support of people!
