We were lucky to catch up with Lofiet Brown recently and have shared our conversation below.
Lofiet , appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
I was doing secular music, my health started declining, when I went to the hospital, the doctor told me that I had almost no kidney function at all, and that I will have to start dialysis, at that time I told God if you take me off this deathbed I will serve him, that’s when I created GetDown Gospel Music.
Lofiet , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
We are a independent record label, Our music go past the traditional-contemporary sound we do Gospel House- Gospel Soul etc. we’re also into expanding into books , shows movies etc.
Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
I met my business partner Shontelle (joice) at a Ascap Convention, she told me when I met her, that I was going to do Gospel, I didn’t believe her we started to hit it off ,fastFoward almost 20 years we are partners.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
You have to have a really awesome product for people to take a glance at you , when me and Eric Ignatius created Let’s Work (the Gospel House Workout) , it was something that was never done, a new sound, We also started people doing the Gospel House Workout challenge on social media ,I believe that individuals like to be the first person to do something (especially) on social media so we’re very humbled for that.
