LockWest, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
What a great question….
I come from the era of pagers! (All you young people google “pagers”) Lol!
I’ve always been into writing, rhyming, poetry and performing since I can remember. Back when pagers were most popular I was in high school/college trying to give the school route a go. Every now and then I would break out my pen and write a rhyme or two, but one day I decided to start leaving those rhymes as voicemails to my homies on their pagers! Whenever they would check the voicemail and call me back, there would almost ALWAYS be “oooo’s” and “aaahhh’s”! They would amp up my rhymes and speak so highly of them and say, “I can’t wait to hear the next one!!” That’s all it took!! From there, I would join any cypher I could find, freestyle to any beat, and go at ANY opponent if a crowd was near!! I found local studios and places to record my rhymes and ideas and it was then, that I started to take my gift, craft and skillset seriously.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My brand is an all inclusive representation of life and the many frequencies we experience while living! The music and entertainment industry taught me that persistence is key whether you get your desired outcome or not. We’re not tied to the result, however we are tied to the effort. Discipline, research, talent, time, effort, skillset, risk, reward, sharpening the tools… these are all things necessary to persevere no matter how successful or unsuccessful you become. Only time reveals answers and allows success, and since I can’t control time, I dam well better control what is within my power. The Righteous Brand represents and encompasses the journey and raw energy of high vibrancy… freely without judgment!

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist and creative is the magic of taking something abstract (like a thought) and turning into something tangible that others can feel and relate to. It still amazes me to this day when I see people wearing my brand or listening to my music. I always say “Wow! That was just a thought in my head one day and now look! I’m actually watching someone benefit from that manifestation of thought!”
Watching the vibration and energy do what it does absolutely amazes me and fuels me today as much as it did when I first began.

In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
Life is the people game. We’re nothing without each other. Any individual, group or entity needs the support of the people to sustain life. Like the ocean needs the air, the earth needs the water and the cycle continues, that’s the blueprint for every eco system. SUPPORT SUPPORT SUPPORT what you love and/or believe in no matter what/who it is, and let the world see that support, and that same energy will find you in your life and endeavors!
