We were lucky to catch up with Lizzy Bergstrom recently and have shared our conversation below.
Lizzy, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Do you have any thoughts about how to create a more inclusive workplace?
Creating a more inclusive workplace is so important. In the wedding industry, there aren’t a lot of examples of inclusivity. You usually see the same types of people showcased in magazines, on the internet, in social media posts, etc. Showing more inclusivity can look a plethora of different ways! My advice for creating a more inclusive workplace is giving folks a chance to be front and center that aren’t the typical type of person who would be front and center naturally. Give folks a chance to speak up, share their views, and have a leadership role in spaces that often shut out folks of color, who are part of the LGBTQIA+ community, who are trans, who are women, who are “disabled”, etc.
My journey of becoming a full time wedding photographer and videographer has really shown me how un-accepted I am in the wedding industry. I am queer, I am Hispanic, I am non-binary, and that alone makes me less of a candidate to be showcased and celebrated- hence why I do what I do! I love celebrating folks from all walks of life, because I know what it feels like to not be noticed due to bending the norms of societal ideation. Being a safe space for folks has shown me that it’s important for me to harbor this type of safe, inclusive space.

Lizzy, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Hey, I’m Lizzy, the face behind *Dizzy Lizzy Digital*! I’m a queer, non-binary Hispanic wedding photographer and videographer with over 15 years of experience, and I absolutely love capturing love in all its forms. I specialize in film photography, and my heart beats for that vintage, retro aesthetic—it’s the warmth and authenticity I’m drawn to in both style and emotion. Working with diverse and non-traditional couples is a huge part of my identity; I’m passionate about creating a space where people feel seen, celebrated, and completely comfortable, no matter their background or how they define love.
I’m fortunate enough to travel around the world for my work, and I take pride in making each shoot a unique reflection of my clients’ personalities and stories. I know that being in front of the camera can feel awkward for a lot of folks, so I focus on creating a relaxed environment where you can be your true self. It’s all about connection and making sure you feel comfortable and confident, so that when you look at your photos, you see the real moments that matter.
What sets me apart from others is my dedication to being inclusive and approachable while capturing those unforgettable moments on film. The films and photos I create aren’t just snapshots—they’re stories that reflect the diverse beauty of my clients and the love they share. I’m proud of how my work can bring people together across cultural lines, and how my clients feel heard, respected, and celebrated through the images I create.
If there’s one thing I want potential clients to know, it’s this: I’m here to celebrate you for exactly who you are, and together we’ll create something beautiful that’ll last a lifetime. Whether it’s your wedding or another special event, you’ll always feel at ease working with me, and I’ll make sure we capture the magic of your story.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Building my reputation in the wedding photography and videography market has been a journey fueled by my dedication to authenticity, inclusivity, and connection. I think what really set me apart and helped build my reputation is my focus on making people feel comfortable, especially during moments that can feel vulnerable, like having their photos taken. I’ve worked hard to create a space where my clients can be their true selves, and I think that’s something people appreciate. They trust that I’ll capture not just beautiful images, but real moments, and that’s key in building strong relationships with my clients.
Another thing that helped is my specialization in film photography and my love for vintage, retro aesthetics. This niche has attracted clients who share a similar appreciation for art! I often say that I offer “Art for Artists”. My focus on working with non-traditional couples and celebrating diversity and inclusivity has also allowed me to build a community of people who feel represented and understood in my work.
Lastly, my willingness to travel the world and adapt to different cultures and locations has broadened my reach, helping me connect with clients globally. It’s not just about the photos and videos—it’s about creating a genuine, supportive experience that clients can feel confident about. I’m proud to say that the relationships I build and the work I produce have been key to establishing a strong reputation within my market.

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
I keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty by prioritizing communication, connection, and personalized experiences throughout their journey with me. From the initial consultation to the final delivery of their photos and videos, I make sure they feel supported and heard every step of the way. I love getting to know my clients on a personal level, understanding their vision, and making sure their personality shines through in every shot. This personalized approach goes a long way in building a relationship that feels authentic and lasting.
After a wedding or photoshoot, I stay in touch by sharing sneak peeks, behind-the-scenes content, and offering helpful tips or updates through email newsletters and social media. I often share highlights from past sessions to keep the connection alive and remind clients of the amazing experience they had working with me. I also love engaging with my community on social media, responding to comments, and showing appreciation for their support.
I think what really fosters brand loyalty is the way I approach each client as an individual. I celebrate their uniqueness and create a tailored experience for them, which makes them feel like they’re part of something special. I also make sure to check in with past clients on anniversaries or just to say hello, which adds a personal touch that keeps the relationship strong long after the job is done.
By consistently offering great service, staying connected, and ensuring that my clients feel valued, I’ve been able to build a loyal following and create lasting relationships that extend beyond just one event.
