We recently connected with Lizzie Kay Moon and have shared our conversation below.
Lizzie Kay, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
My serendipitous introduction to Shamanic Astrology was truly transformative! Far beyond a mere personality description or an attempt at predicting what I “should” do, the unfoldment of my soul’s story in my natal chart reading helped me see more clearly see where I’d been, how I might thrive or get stuck, and what I could learn, evolve and grow through … if I choose! It elucidated my path and gave me direction, permission and courage to step confidently into my “soul’s purpose” and gave me a way to navigate the lessons and cycles of life!
My experience and desire to share this kind of insight and enlightenment with others lead me to study and become Foundationally Certified in Shamanic Astrology. With this approach and through the different modalities I offer,, I can provide others the same invaluable insight, guidance, integration and empowerment plus a connection or reconnection with the night sky, the natural patterns and cycles, ceremony, sacred sites, history, cosmology and a roadmap for “dreaming the dream onward!”
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Approaching the Autumn stage of life and integrating many years of my own journey of healing and “re-patterning” I have finally and magically found an approach that weaves it all together and provides a framework for unveiling each individual’s unique “energetic make-up.” I found that this impactful approach offers an clear, objective viewpoint while still connecting with and allowing for free will and co-creation with “Great Mystery.”
Having always been drawn to the “study of the human condition” and to understanding the expression of an individual’s “inner workings” in the lived life, I would glance at astrology as a tool to help explain “how people are.” As many do, I found that sometimes “horoscopes” seemed accurate but at other times, not so much. My cursory level of knowledge certainly wasn’t “reliable” enough to use practically.
Fast forward to November 2022 when I invited a renowned musician and “sound journeyman” to host an event on my sacred land. I didn’t know at the time that he was also a Shamanic Astrologer and had studied with the founder, Daniel Giamario, for over 20 years! During that visit I received my first natal chart reading from this approach … and something within me was deeply transformed! The soul-confirming language, the unfoldment of my own unique “cosmic mandala,” and the revelation that there is so much more to know than simply my Sun sign expanded my consciousness in a relative instant!
The story begins with the assumption that we don’t come into this life as a “blank slate” – that there are certain skills, talents, apptitudes, habits, etc., that are part of our “Lineage,” if you will. When I was shown the points on the chart that related to my particular “past” (in this lifetime or others), I experienced a deeply resonant affirmation of “where I had been.” It was as if by simply looking at my chart, he could tell my whole life story! When he showed me the overall direction of my chart – what my soul is “rising into” or “Current Life Intent” – it was like receiving a roadmap or a clear set of instructions from the Universe pointing to my soul’s purpose and what I came to investigate fully in this lifetime! I was also shown how may chart is full of information about relationships, projects, tools, ways of learning, evolving and growing as well as the initiations and cycles I encounter along the way!
I had to know more! My consciousness quickly shifted and I took the deep dive into learning what all of this meant, how it applies to my life and how I could help others gain the same clarity I had gotten. I began my studies in Turning of the Ages Mystery School (TOTAMS) under direct mentorship of the founder, Daniel Giamario, and became a certified, practicing astrologer in the TOTAMS paradigm even graduating with other students amid the stone circles in Callanish, Scotland last year! I’m currently continuing my studies in cosmology and synodic cycles and I currently serve on the Council as Resource Steward (i.e. “treasurer”) of the school. And these are only a few of the BIG changes since that fateful day in November, 2022!
The term “shamanic” has many references including a transformative experience through a soul-to-soul connection with the “shaman” or someone who can access areas of our “inner workings” that we may not be able to reach on our own. It also refers to the process of death/regeneration/rebirth, altered states (even achieved through meditation or an intuitive connection with “Great Mystery”), ceremony, and an awareness of the natural cycles of Earth and sky, of our own lives, and to All that Is. This has been my experience.
For example, as I connect to the Earth and sky where I live, I observe the same heavenly luminaries as millions of people before me. Shortly after the musician’s first visit, he returned and lead us in creating a “working” stone circle representing the starry patterns above and aligned with the Solstice and Equinox points, the directions and elements … “As Above, So Below.” As I walk this land, learn about, listen to and steward her, I’m brought into a deep reverence for where I live and for the unseen forces that seemed to have brought me (back) here. I know I’m meant to learn something that needs to come through me, through the connection with Earth and sky, through research and over time. More will be revealed.
Although my initial reading sparked inspiration and courage to step confidently onto the path of my “Current Life Intent,” as we know … that’s where the real work starts. My change in focus and direction was a catalyst for my next stage of healing and integration as everything in and around me also changed. “As within, so without.” Goals, activities, friends, groups and offerings were all up for a review and revamp. This is where my past experience and training proved to be invaluable as I used meditation, Somatic Sensing (including The Shipp Method©), Integral Breath Therapy, Psychology of the Chakras and energy healing to support the process that was happening in my life. So now these are the modalities I’m able to offer as guidance and support for those experiencing similar major life shifts and “initiatory cycles.”
My clients usually begin with an individual reading of their own natal chart / “mandala” and continue with additional sessions for a further look or deeper understanding of their personal cycles and transits; relationship points (the “Inner Sacred Marriage” process); synastry (chart comparison) with a partner, friend or business associate; best timing for major decisions or activities; or an overview of the greater cosmology of our times. I also offer “astrological counseling,” guidance in the practices and modalities I employ, classes, workshops, in-person gatherings and retreats.
As a Shamanic Astrologer, teacher, intuitive guide and somatic practitioner, I offer my clients a view of themselves they may not be able to access in other ways, and provide assistance and support for encouragement, integration and embodiment of their unique and authentic Selves!

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
From that first Shamanic Astrology reading, I knew my life had to change! I knew that if I was truly going to choose to align with or even give myself permission to explore what had been laid out before me in the “roadmap,” I would need to make some real-life decisions about where I put my focus and energy. This included making some difficult choices and setting clear boundaries with “people, places and things.” The honest commitment to my soul’s path was reflected in the landscape of my life changing – the same goals and interests were no longer appealing or relevant; new intention and attention began to talk hold in all directions; friends, groups and communities left or dissolved; and new supportive opportunities and relationships were emerging.
But facing those choices and making these decisions also revealed past traumas and deep, hidden fears that needed to be re-patterned in order to move forward. There was no way to deny what had resonated so deeply in the reading and now I had to overcome habits and ways of thinking and moving in the world that had kept me from aligning with my own path. Since everything was changing within and around me, how others saw me changed as well. Many who expected me to react in a certain way or to allow certain behaviors were upset with my new clarity of direction and steadfastness in boundaries. I call that time period, “the year of clearing” as relationships ended with people who were once close, as I stopped trying to please everyone except myself, as I set energetic boundaries with anyone or anything that was depleting my vitality (life). I had to learn to trust myself, stay true to my inner knowing and keep aligning with my own journey.
As “the wheel keeps turning” and transformation continues, I am seeing and healing “the past” while continuing to cultivate the new. I still use the practices I have learned to reset and regulate my nervous system and I am learning to speak, set and hold physical and energetic boundaries. I am creating balance and harmony in a new and very full life that has shifted quickly and dramatically.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
I have 2 relatively recent pivots. After my divorce began in 2019, I was inspired to somehow create community and a way for people to come together, uplift each other, share from our hearts, sit in circles, etc. I created a business called, “SouLounge” and held small events in my home but quickly we needed a bigger space. I had big dreams of finding a brick and morter space and creating a hip, groovy place to hang out, have lunch or coffee, enjoy or make music, hold events, workshops, etc. I was in the process of looking at commercial space and talking to investors when COVID hit and saved me from investing in something miles over my head!
I now know that my motivation to expand SouLounge was the energy that magically lead me to my new home in 2021. The one-of-a-kind underground dome home on 5 acres adjacent to the Estrella Mtns in which I live is the perfect place to manifest my vision! I expanded the name of my business to “SouLounge Spirit Retreat” and started having “Happy Soul Hours” where people could come to relax, take in the views and nature, have some tea or cacao and connect with each other. I added sound baths, meditation and breathwork circles, ceremonies, workshops, classes, parties, concerts, and offered my space for other practitioners to hold similar events. It was great … and it was A LOT of work! AND I had a plethora of people and energy coming in and out of my home … and that became a problem.
However, it was SouLounge Spirit Retreat that brought the musician to my place who introduced me to Shamanic Astrology and created the “working” stone circle in the fall of 2022! I continued to hold events while studying and becoming more involved with the school. Then in October of 2023, I attended one of the school’s in-person eclipse gatherings during which I received a clear message from the Universe, “get more into your land.”
I had no idea what that message meant but it was so clear I knew I had to follow it. I knew right away that I needed to stop working so hard to host so many events for so many other people and to connect with the deeper purpose and meaning for my life and for being here in this important place and time. As I began to listen to honor and work with the energy of my land, I also deepened my studies in cosmology, archaeology, geography and other fields of wisdom that all lend a part to what I offer as a Shamanic Astrologer & Counselor … and as an authentic, purposeful human soul at this Great Turning of the Ages!
