We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Lizette Sinhart. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Lizette below.
Hi Lizette, thanks for joining us today. If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your business sooner or later
Real Estate is my second career. Previous to working in real estate I worked in the Beauty/ Fashion space as a sales executive. I was itching to change careers for a while, but I let fear & money hold me back. I came home from work one day absolutley miserable because I had a 2 year that I was dropping off at daycare at 6:30 am and picking him up at 6:30 pm. Having my first child helped me make the jump. Transitioning into a new career in your late 30s is not easy especially a career that is essentially is a small business but is 100% commission based.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
6 years ago, my husband and I were living in Brooklyn where I was born and raised, and we really wanted to purchase a home. Everything I knew was in Brooklyn & I never wanted to leave! We began our search looking for homes in Brooklyn & we soon realized we would never get what we wanted with the price point we were working with. We were newly married and in our early 30s. My husband who was obsessed with the Hudson Valley recommeneded that we search in Westchester County NY. I was immediately like ” NO WAY”! Was this guy insane? I am not leavning Brooklyn!!!!
We started our search in Westchester and the rest is history.
Full disclousre – My first couple of months living in Westchester I absolutley hated it. I ran back to Brooklyn every chance I could get. But then I started to really embrace living here and started researching all the different things to do and slowly but surely I fell in love.
One of my main focuses as a real estate agent is to help guide clients who were like me and had no idea where to even start in their search for a home and ensure that I am making the transtion as seamless as possible. I pride myself in providing superior service for every single one of my cleints whether purchasing their first home, selling a home they have lived in for a very long time or working with investors.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
My best source for clients is my sphere of influence. From day one I have been very active and present in letting everyone know I sell real estate. It very important to stay at the top of peoples minds to ensure everyone is thinking of you when they think about real estate. A silent realtor in this day in age is the worst realtor you can be. Do I love putting myself out there daily on social media? No I don’t but I know how important it is for my business. Before getting into real estate I was extremely private on all social channels but the minute I got into real estate I became very active and it has worked :)
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Before getting into real estate I was super private on all social channels. The minute I got into real estate I knew I had to use social media as a platfrom to let me sphere know I am “open for business” and stay at the top of peoples minds when they think about real estate. I think everyones fear is always “what will I look like to others” but you have to set the fear aside and just go for it. You will learn and grow from your posts and figure out what people like to see. What you see on social media from is really how I am . No smoke and mirrors here. Be yourself and the following will come!
