We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Liza Maya a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Liza, thanks for joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
Soul Grain started with an idea and was fueled and propelled by our passion. We believed that the granola aisles neglected to represent the beauty of diversity. Embark with us on the journey that explores the captivating world of diverse culture, spices, and flavors.
The magic that lies within will immerse you in a tantalizing and unique fusion of flavors that will be nostalgic to some and maybe new to others. Whatever the case is, you will be transported into an epicurean journey where the unique fusion of spices, flavors and texture will create a symphony of taste you will not forget!
Each bite is a celebration of diversity and unity which is what SOUL GRAIN stands for.
Liza, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
Sylvia and I met through our partners over 15 years ago. The connection was instant. Sylvia is a talented and beautiful pastry chef, I am a Nutritionist . We were just MEANT to CREATE something special.
Okay – so how did you figure out the manufacturing part? Did you have prior experience?
We started in our own kitchens , in very very small batches , using paper bags and printed stickers ! VERY homemade looking ! we promptly moved to more “store friendly ” packaging and commercial kitchen. The growth from year one to year two is honestly astonishing and something we haven’t had the time to actually contemplate and celebrate.
We are now in year 3 and looking of copacker in order to scale.
