We recently connected with LIZ LOPEZ and have shared our conversation below.
Hi LIZ, thanks for joining us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
Determination is key to success. Resilience and wisdom are also key factors to ones success story. There will be road blocks and set backs, but remembering your why, will help you stay determined. Consistency is also important when you want your business to thrive and succeed. Your business is like your child, You have to care for it and nurture it. Shift gears when things don’t go as planned. You have to walk before you can run with your business. Build a strong foundation and reap the benefits of all your hard work in the end.
LIZ, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I have always been passionate about skin care and beauty. I dived into makeup about 9 years ago and I fell in love with it. I soon realized that makeup is not flawless with out a good skin care regimen. To my surprise, I fell deeper in love with skin care. I wanted to provide good tips and regimens for my clients so I dove into skin care a bit deeper. It took me quite a while to finally sign up for esthetician school due to many road blocks. However, I persevered and I made it through school. Shorty after graduating, I took my state boards and passed. About 2 weeks later I started as a solo esthetician in a small booth and moved my way out to my own studio. I was nervous, afraid of failure and afraid no one would show up. To my surprise, I have been blessed with amazing word of mouth and referrals from friends, family and clients. I am glad I took that leap of faith. I’ve prayed about what I’ve accomplished thus far, and I continue to pray for what I desire to accomplish in the near future. I also retail professional skin care products. My end goal is to grow my business and be fully booked and busy everyday. In Jesus name, Amen!
We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
I text my clients or contact them via social media, where most of my clientele stems from. I check in on them on a regular basis, especially if they’ve recently been in my treatment room.
How’d you think through whether to sell directly on your own site or through a platform like Amazon, Etsy, Cratejoy, etc.
I currently retail Professional skin care products that are recommended and tailored to each client that walks through my door. I have an online virtual store they can purchase from and products are delivered to their door,( https://glymedplus.com/store/lizloglow ) or they can purchase from the retail I have on my shelves. It is convenient for my clients because I have products readily available and they are result driven products that work. Pros are that I make an extra income by selling products and I am able to target the clients concerns by offering skin care products for a at home regimen, the cons is that it may not be in some client’s budget to purchase pharmaceutical grade products.
