We were lucky to catch up with Liz Jurado Armendariz recently and have shared our conversation below.

Liz, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Innovation comes in all shapes, sizes and across all industries, so we’d love to hear about something you’ve done that you feel was particularly innovative.

The most innovative thing I have done in my career was taking the risk of leaving my Cooperate America stable job and having the will power to take the risk of launch not just a Boutique but creating a Brand. When you take a risk of this nature you never know if the ideas you have will succeed or fail? its a risk I was willing to take that definitely has paid off.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

Hello Beautiful Diosa’s my name is Elizabeth Jurado Armendariz but I go By Liz Armendariz I am the Founder & CEO of what has always been my dream, it started with a simple power point in high school when we were asked to create a presentation on what would be our dream job. Back in 2007 I had the pleasure of making my dream come true, however after having the Boutique store front for just a year the world took a turn for the worst and we had a huge economical set back due to the 2008 recession which forced us to close down the store front, but it wasn’t all bad, we were able to continue with our ecommerce store and cater to new & loyal clients until 2012 when I decided to take a break after finding out I was expecting and wanted to focus 100% on my new journey of being a 1st time mom. In 2017 I decided to relaunch the Boutique and strategize based on the way the world was innovating on how to make a comeback. I am very proud to have relaunched when I did, this gave me the opportunity to serve clients in Mexico and in the U.S & get to know the needs of my clients. Based on this I came up with the idea of not only caring wholesale brands but also designing some of my own clothing designs under my 2 brands “House of Glam & Lexie Buchona Clothing Co”. which cater to our clients from Buchona, Chic and Kouture Fashion. In this journey I also saw a lot of my clients struggling to finding the right beauty brand that meet all there needs which then made me strategize on the launch of my very own Beauty Brand “Diosa Beauty Creations & Cosmetics” which is created vegan and cruelty free and gentile to the skin. I am are most proud to be able to cover all of our clients and audience’s needs in one spot as my Boutique & Brands continue to grow every year. We are the 1st local Boutique in Arizona to offer delivery services thru Ubtique Delivery “our own delivery company” and DoorDash. We also became the only Boutique to offer Shop Now, Pay Later, Take Home Today thru Sezzle & Afterpay. We have made it possible for our clients to have various options to shop there way at there connivance. With out our clients & audience we would not be here. You are the motor to this journey we have embarked. We are located in El Mirage, Arizona & offer a private shopping experiences to our current & new clients by appointments only. We want the shopping experience to be as personalized as possible and have our clients get all the attention and help they need while shopping & trying on our Merch. Hope to see you soon!

Can you talk to us about how you funded your business?

When I decided to start up my business I began saving money from my full time Job. When I felt I was ready I started with only $5,000. Once I had this money I obtained all my licenses, permits, ecommerce store and purchased the items I wanted to sell with what I had left from from the $5,000.00. As I began selling I used that money to pay for the store needs and its new inventory and as time when by I had enough to open my own location and grow my inventory.

Can you open up about a time when you had a really close call with the business?

When the 2020 pandemic hit I felt like it was going to be 2008 all over again! I felt such a close call! However, little did I know this would be the perfect time for my Boutique & Brand to grown even more as people made online shopping the best option to go. During the pandemic I had more ways and options to put my name and brand out there to get recognized and learn more on the needs of our audience and current clients since there was more personalized posting on social media which made it much easier to recognize where we were failing and were we could strive & improve.
