We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Liz Griffith. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Liz below.
Alright, Liz thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. How did you learn to do what you do? Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process? What skills do you think were most essential? What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?
Becoming a wedding coordinator in Nebraska came with some background to know what to do while learning how to do it! I studied Event Management in college and obtained my bachelor’s with a background in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, and Family Consumer Sciences. My studies began to shape and develop my desire to plan, design, and execute events. Starting off by managing a coffee shop during college, this role opened the door to working directly with clients who booked the space for baby showers, corporate meetings, and even small wedding receptions. Through those experiences, I discovered how much I loved the planning process! From sourcing the perfect vendors to ensuring every detail aligned with the client’s vision. I found so much joy in going above and beyond expectations, whether through thoughtful touches or simply being attentive to every ask and need.
After college, I stepped into the role of a stay-at-home mom to my beautiful daughter, while continuing to help friends and family with weddings and events. Nearly four years ago, a family connection introduced me to Sarah Meduna, owner of Styled In White. She graciously brought me on as a Day-of Assistant with her Omaha, NE-based team, and after about a year, she offered me the opportunity to step into a Lead Coordinator role under her business.
Through my experience assisting Sarah, I gained a deep understanding of both the do’s and don’ts when it comes to serving clients well. Becoming someone’s wedding planner is far more than just the beautiful design work and vendor sourcing often portrayed on social media. It’s a role that requires building strong, trusting relationships. Not only with clients, but also with local vendors.
Over time, I learned the unique offerings of vendors in our area, became familiar with their pricing structures, and discovered who to call for those one-of-a-kind client requests. Behind the scenes, many hours are spent sourcing the right team, coordinating meetings, drafting clear and organized quotes, and being consistently available to answer complex questions, accommodate requests, and keep clients updated on budget progress.
Every couple I work with receives dedicated time and attention. The ability to pivot and adapt to each client’s unique needs is a skill I’ve sharpened through Sarah’s mentorship. Her keen eye for design, meticulous attention to detail, and extensive industry knowledge have shaped the way I approach planning. I’ve learned not just from her, but with her, as each wedding brings its own set of experiences and lessons. I can confidently say I wouldn’t be where I am today as one of her Lead Coordinators for Omaha and the surrounding areas without her guidance and trust.

Liz, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Hi! I’m Liz, a Lead Wedding Coordinator with Styled In White Events based in Nebraska, and my journey into this field has been a mix of education, hands-on experience, and a genuine passion for people!
My professional journey took off when I began working with Styled In White, a Nebraska-based wedding planning company owned by Sarah Meduna. What started as a Day-of Assistant role soon grew into a Lead Coordinator position, and now I plan and execute weddings across Omaha and surrounding areas with Sarah and her team.
The services I provide are personalized wedding coordination and planning—everything from vendor sourcing and timeline creation to design consultations and budget management. What I love most is helping clients bring their vision to life, while also taking the stress and pressure off their shoulders. Every couple is different, and my goal is always to make sure their wedding feels like them in every way.
What sets me and Styled In White apart is the way we prioritize relationships. We don’t just manage checklists, but take the time to really listen to what’s important to clients and build trust from the start. I’m also a strong communicator and problem-solver, which helps when wedding days come with the unexpected (as they often do!). Being adaptable, detailed, and calm under pressure are skills I’ve honed with time and guidance from Sarah.
I’m most proud of the relationships I’ve built with both couples and vendors. There’s something incredibly special about being invited into such a meaningful day in someone’s life and helping make it beautiful, organized, and joyful. I want potential clients to know that I truly care about their experience. I’m here to be their advocate, their sounding board, and their calm in the chaos, so they can actually enjoy the process, their engagement, and be fully present on their big day!

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
At Styled In White, we pride ourselves on delivering a luxury, white-glove wedding planning experience that leaves a lasting impression. Our most powerful source of new clients has always been referrals. There’s something truly special about creating a wedding so memorable that guests in attendance, often future brides themselves, can instantly envision us bringing their own dream day to life.
Each wedding becomes more than a single celebration; it’s a ripple effect. From the moment guests step into a ceremony or reception we’ve designed, they’re experiencing the intentional details, seamless flow, and genuine joy we work so hard to create. That emotional impact lingers and often turns into the next phone call or inquiry we receive.
Booking a referral feels like reconnecting with a growing family. It’s not uncommon to see past brides in the crowd, now attending as guests, reliving the joy of their own day while supporting the next bride-to-be. It creates a beautiful cycle of trust, joy, and celebration that we’re so honored to be part of!

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
Meeting Sarah, the owner of Styled In White, truly felt like an alignment of the stars. I had been sharing with a family member how much I still dreamed of becoming a wedding planner, but in such a saturated market like Nebraska, I wasn’t sure where to begin. I didn’t know who to reach out to or how to start building a reputation in the industry.
That’s when my cousin mentioned a lifelong family friend, Sarah, who had been successfully planning weddings in both Dallas, TX, and Omaha, NE. As fate would have it, she was looking for an assistant in Omaha. With her schedule flying back and forth between cities, she needed someone who was not only detail-oriented and reliable, but someone with heart, hustle, and a real passion for weddings and people.
I reached out to Sarah directly, shared my background, and expressed how deeply I wanted to grow in the industry. From that first conversation, we clicked. She was clear about her expectations, high ones, but aligning perfectly with my own standards and work ethic. After working my very first wedding alongside her, I knew I had found where I was meant to be. Styled In White felt like home from the start!
