Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Liz Cipriani. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Liz, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Almost all entrepreneurs have had to decide whether to start now or later? There are always pros and cons for waiting and so we’d love to hear what you think about your decision in retrospect. If you could go back in time, would you have started your business sooner, later or at the exact time you started?
I started Content by Liz in December 2023. I had been freelancing as a wedding vendor marketing specialist since 2021, so I already knew what went into owning a business and was very in tune with the wedding industry. I saw that Wedding Day Content Creators were starting to pop up everywhere and was really interested in getting involved. I decided to take on a few weddings during the summer of 2023 as a contractor for a big content creation brand based out of Colorado that was looking to expand into the DC market. During those weddings, I realized that no one was offering this service in Maryland and there was a market for the work, so I decided to jump in and create Content by Liz.
I feel so fortunate to have started this business when I did, and I wouldn’t change a thing. The past six months have been an absolute whirlwind as Wedding Day Content Creators have gained popularity and started to enter the mainstream wedding market. There are always growing pains when a new service like this enters the market, but I truly feel like I could not have been luckier!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am the owner of Content by Liz, a wedding content creation brand based in Maryland. I capture behind-the-scenes content on your wedding day and create short-form videos for couples to share on social media. This is unique in the wedding industry in that you get all of the unedited photos and videos from your day and are free to use them as you like. You also receive all of your content within 24 hours of your wedding day, which is much faster than you would expect from a traditional photographer or videographer.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
One of the greatest assets I had when starting Content by Liz was my connections in the wedding industry. Since I had been freelancing as a wedding vendor marketing specialist for a few years, I had made many connections with planners and photographers before I even started this brand. A lot of these people were my biggest supporters when I announced Content by Liz and I’m so grateful for them.
The wedding industry is really built on connections, so being friendly and meeting people is one of the most important things that a new vendor can do. I try to attend at least one wedding industry networking event a month or grab a coffee with a vendor that I’ve wanted to get to know.
I also think it’s incredibly important to remember that a wedding is a team sport. As a content creator, I’m working very closely with the rest of your media team, and it’s so important to be mindful of their needs as well as my own. I am super focused on communication before and during a wedding day, and that leads to really smooth wedding days and great working relationships with the vendors.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
A majority of my clients come from either Instagram or Google. As a content creator, it’s not a surprise that so many come from Instagram, since the couples that are active on Instagram are likely to be the ones most interested in my work. Although I don’t have a ton of followers (less than 1000 as of the time of this interview) I’ve put in a lot of effort to put out really great content on there and to connect with my ideal clients.
I’ve been surprised as to how many of my couples actually come from Google! I think that couples still rely on it heavily when searching for wedding vendors, even though the assumption is that most of them are using social media. I recently became the number one Google result for Baltimore Wedding Content Creator and I’ve definitely noticed an uptick in leads since then.
