Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Live Another Day. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Live Another Day, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
Our band turned six years old in April and we’ve never been on tour before. Since the formation of the band, It’s been a major goal of ours to experience touring in all of its glory. This summer we went on our first west coast tour, where we went from Austin to Berkeley, California and back in 17 days. Along the way, we expanded our network with other amazing artists and gained new fans in each city. Since 2018, all of the shows we’ve ever played have been in and around central Texas, and we have always wanted to grow out of the small bubble that we grew up in. It took a lot of hard work to pull off the tour, especially because we’re an independent DIY band. We spent about six months planning the logistics of the tour by utilizing the many contacts that we’ve gained in the six years of playing shows, and we made many new contacts who helped us make the tour go as planned.

Live Another Day, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Formed in 2018, we are a DIY alternative punk band with hints of ska punk, pop punk and classic punk all mixed together. Based in Austin, TX, our lineup includes bassist/lead singer Logan Greenberg, drummer Timeo Hennion, lead guitarist Jack Henry and rhythm guitarist Chris Kalamarides.
In 2020, we recorded our first full length LP “Purple Is Underrated”. Completed during the Covid-19 pandemic, the 12 song, 26 minute album took 20 hours to record. The record is full of teenage angst and personal issues including poor sleeping habits, being a loner, physical pain, and trying to find love. The song “Anything” is about moving on from a parasitic relationship and trying to live with the feeling of loss while “Sleepless” was born out of the lack of sleep that Logan was getting during the week. It includes his imagination of creatures attacking him during the night and the ways he tries to cope with them.
In June of 2021, we released our next single called “I Find You”.
The song is about two awkward teens going on their first date and trying to find their place in the relationship. Throughout 2022 and 2023 we recorded four more singles called “Not Safe This Time”, “Far Away”, “One Day” and “Disappoint Me”.
“Not Safe This Time” is about DIY bands who can’t move onto the next level in their career, while the other bands around them are blowing up. “Far Away” was brought up out of a nightmare after binge watching every episode of Stranger Things. “One Day” is a humbling ska song about lost loved ones and “Disappoint Me” is an anti-Valentines Day song about a one sided relationship.
2024 is going strong for us, as we went on a west coast tour that went from Austin to Berkeley and back while playing with Grumpster and The Dollheads along the way. We also played with Catbite and Bad Operation at a show that preceded the tour. In addition to the singles released in 2023, we plan on releasing more singles throughout the rest of 2024 and 2025 that will become our second LP.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
The best way to support artists and other creatives is to go to their shows, buy their merchandise, buy their music and to follow their social media sites. We are happy that people stream our music but just streaming isn’t enough to keep musicians afloat in this competitively fast paced industry. We like it when people go to our shows and dance and sing along with us. That’s the best feeling ever.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
We have an aspiration of becoming an inspiration to others. Our mission is to one day be an influence to the new generation of punks, like our influences have done for us. Our inspirations saved our lives in the way of directing us to punk rock, and in turn punk has guided us to becoming the people we are today. If someone is feeling down or going through hard times and they turn to our music to brighten their day, that’s what we’re all about.
