We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Liv Peltier. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Liv below.
Liv, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s start with a fun one – what’s something you believe that most people in your industry (or in general) disagree with?
As a creative, I believe that most people in my industry believes that every piece of work we create has to appeal to our audience. We often times take criticism very personally as well as a reflection of how well we perform. As a creative director, I’ve seen this take a toll on my mental health constantly thinking I am not good enough or it wasn’t perfect for my audience. The art of perfection I’ve learned is in the pieces imperfections. There are times I overthink my work and my clients ended up loving the exact piece I was overthinking about! So for all my creatives who think their work isn’t good enough take a break, pause, and smile at the journey of your creation instead!
Liv, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
From a very young age I’ve been placed into my creative field. I was enrolled at the St. John School of the Arts for 14 years and from there my interests sparked. I later attended Moore college summer program SADI which fueled my interest into Creative Direction. At the age of 18 years old, I knew I wanted to be a creative director with the mission to create dreams! I furthered my passion for design and attended both the Art Institute of Atlanta and General Assembly. In those 3 years of higher education, I skilled myself in design, fashion, and digital marketing. Where I built a strong portfolio to receive internships at photography studios. In May of 2024, I graduated as a certified digital marketer and two months later I was able to build and launch my very own creative service website. As a creative director, my responsibilities include conceptualizing ideas, developing visual concepts, managing creative teams, and ensuring the final deliverables meet quality standards.
My creative expertise significantly contributes to business’s success by understanding their brand identity, target audience, and market trends. I can develop compelling visual narratives that effectively communicate a brand’s message and differentiate the brand from their competitors. I strive to create memorable and impactful experiences that resonate with my clients and foster brand loyalty.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative is seeing how amazing my work is through the lens and perspective of complete strangers. I think that’s the most impactful feeling a creative can connect to. Hearing strangers speak highly on how my work has helped their business grow or their products reach their designated audience. My biggest goal in life is to help people live out their childhood dreams and foster them into reality. I’ve had clients that always wanted to be a hairstylist but didn’t have a logo that captured their essence as one. So being able to create a logo for them to fulfill that dream and feed my clients inner child is so captivating. This makes me feel fulfilled that I helped someone’s childhood dream come true!
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Recently, I found that referral programs and individual testimonials have helped me so much with growing my clientele into where it needs to be. With testimonials and referrals, my new clients get to hear real life feedback from other clientele that I work with. It gives my new clients an amazing insight on how impactful my work is and what I am capable of doing for them and their business. Testimonials and referrals also help me build brand loyalty with past clients because that is one my biggest effort and goal as well with my business. I want my clientele to be able to come back and refer people so they can also come back and build this great sense of community.
