We recently connected with Lito Pinilla and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Lito thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Before we talk about all of your success, let’s start with a story of failure. Can you open up about a time when you’ve failed?
About 7 years ago, I packed up my bags and my family from South Florida to Charlotte. My wife and I felt a nudge in our hearts that God was calling us to full time ministry. Coming from a corporate America background that came with a comfort lifestyle you would think it would have have been difficult for us to let go, but it was easier than what I expected.
I was now part of a church internship program for 6 months with no guarantee of getting a job. I had two kids during that time and making $400 per week. Peanut butter and jelly’s became our thing real quick!
2 or 3 weeks into my internship, I was given a simple project. Well, that’s what I thought. My supervisor was teaching that night and asked me that he needed a door for his sermon as an illustration. When he first gave me the task, immediately I thought this is quite simple.
The day of his sermon I realized the task I labeled simple, was becoming more complex by the minute. I tried everything possible to make this door stand on his own. Idea after idea, failure after failure. 10 minutes before we opened doors, my supervisor said, “put that door away, we are about to start.”
Right after, a task that seemed so simple felt like unbearable weight. Because of that door, mentally I closed the door in my head that I am not enough.
From that day, that door has become a staple for me. In moments where I’m given something or feel as if I’m dropping the ball. I always go back to that night, and think about that door. From that experience I learned to ask better questions, and to never shut another door because I couldn’t one.
Lito, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Becoming a father, and my father abandoning me.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Being consistent and having a multiplier state of mind. My Goal is to set the stage for others to win.
