We recently connected with Lisa Woodcock and have shared our conversation below.
Lisa, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
Nothing prepares you for the double lines on a pregnancy test. In October of 2022, I experienced so many emotions when my husband and I found out we were pregnant with our first child – with the main one being joy. After the nausea and fatigue of the first trimester passed, I realized “Oh my gosh….I should probably start getting stuff together for this baby!”…for the baby, for the home, and for ME (the postpartum days can be crazy, as you know).
Because I am such a detail-oriented and data-driven person, it took me hours upon hours to gather information, compare items, compare prices, and ultimately sort out my baby registry and to-do list. Without exaggerating, I probably spent 20 hours on our baby registry alone. But, hey, I wanted the best items at the most sensible price point for my family.
After all of the research, analyzing, and hours spent online, I realized “hey, maybe I could help other moms with stuff like this someday.” I’ve always have had a passion for helping others, and I finally put the pieces together that I could make motherhood easier and more fun for so many women.
This very thought was the first seed of what has become my business today. I am now a toddler mom, content creator, and an author (as of 2024!) who’s mission is to empower moms to embrace a life of joy, health, presence, and ease.
A majority of the content I create is aimed to inspire or to give tangible help and tips, while my professional background in nutrition lends a hand to some of the recipes and toddler hacks that I share. I absolutely love creating content that resonates with women, sparking connection, inspiration, and leaving them feeling refreshed and recharged.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’ve always been an entrepreneur at heart, ever since I started selling bracelets in fourth grade at the pool! But, seriously, I’ve always known from a very young age that there was a calling on my life to serve others. After college, that got me into the health field and helping people with their fitness and wellness goals. For the past 10 years of my adult life, I have been a professional coach and trainer, giving people the tools to change their lives for the better. While I’ve cherished every moment of it, my journey into motherhood showed me there is more work to be done.
This new stage of life has brought fresh excitement about meeting women where they’re at and providing them with very simple tools and habits to improve their daily life. A good portion of that still falls under the “health” category, but I’ve also loved branching out into sharing other ideas, such as: items that make traveling with a baby easier, toddler craft ideas for a rainy day, comfortable maternity clothes, morning routines, and more! I feel like with what I am creating now in my business, I am able to show up wholly and authentically as myself, and help other moms in the process.
Currently I offer a lot of free content through social media while also working as an influencer and collaborating with other brands. This allows me to share items I use in my daily life and other things that I care about, while still upholding my autonomy as a creator and my personal values. I also have a foundational nutrition course (Back To Basics) that I host online, and I will be launching my pregnancy (and postpartum) fitness and nutrition course this year in 2025! My children’s nutrition book, Make Your Plate, is for sale on Amazon and includes interactive pages to draw and write with your little ones in the back!

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
The biggest habit I had to break was being a perfectionist. Trying to be perfect and trying to run a successful business just don’t go together. Sometimes you have to take messy action, go for it, and learn while you fly.
When I started out, it would take me months to decide on exactly how I wanted my website to look, what my brand colors should be, or what domain I should use. This quickly translated into overanalyzing my own videos, photos, written content, and even the way that I spoke. Soon, I felt paralyzed by the fear of not doing everything “right”. And as you can assume, this quickly led to the decline of that business.
When I started over in my motherhood era, I quickly realized that I don’t have time to be perfect. That honestly turned out to be the biggest blessing. I started posting because I wanted to, celebrating what I did accomplish versus harping on what I didn’t, and spending spare time doing the business tasks that brought me joy – like filming and editing. This ultimately led to more content being created, more people engaging with me online, and more success.
I am grateful for the lesson, because I wouldn’t be where I am today without first having experienced burnout and anxiety. God always takes us where we need to be. Oh, and another lesson: there’s no such thing as failure….it’s just a way to learn and try something a new way next time!

Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
I will share some resources that I think are really great, but first I want to share about consistency. Consistency is something I wish I comprehended and practiced much earlier in my entrepreneurial journey. The thing is: you can have the best technology, the kindest heart, and the most passion, but if you aren’t consistent in your business, you are doing yourself a disservice.
If you are going to do YouTube, post a video every week (or two weeks) and let your audience know. If you’re going to do a podcast, do it 100%. Pre-record audio so that you have something to post in case you get sick, get busy, or life gets in the way. If you are trying to get into influencer marketing, share what you’re doing and share it often so that people know what’s up. As a business owner, I would argue that consistency is the most important skill you can learn and refine.
As far as resources, software, and ideas that I wish I knew about earlier…
I think Pinterest is a very under-rated sales tool. A majority of the people on the app are viewers/consumers (not creating content, but there to look around). It puts the creator/business owner in a good position to get more eyes on their product or service, plus it gives you an excuse to make cute pins, right?!
Podia has been a great platform for hosting courses, and now they host websites and even include email marketing in their basic plan. It’s a great (and financially sensible) way to host all of your business tech in one place which makes your life easier!
Lastly, platforms like Libsyn (and others) make it so easy and inexpensive to host a podcast. I remember when podcasting first became popular and it felt like you had to be famous to host one. But actually, it’s quite simple and all google-able. For someone who loves talking and is ready to put in the consistent effort that a podcast requires, I think it’s a great way to grow your business and get your name out there!
