We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Lisa Morris. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Lisa below.
Lisa , appreciate you joining us today. If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your business sooner or later?
I’ve always had a vision and a desire to be a creative behind the lens…from the time I was a young girl. Whether it be hiding outside to get the perfect wildlife picture or capturing those candid moments at youth camp, my camera was always with me. I finally took a chance in 2014. I was at the point where both of our kids were driving, I had more time on my hands, and I was ready. I’ll never forget how excited I was after my first senior shoot. I took hours preparing for it, surveyed the location to know just where the light was going to be, and I loved every minute of it! Although I wish I would have started my business sooner, I also think I started it at just the right time! My business exploded quicker than I could have ever hoped for and if that had happened earlier I may have missed out on my kids growing up. I am so thankful for starting it just at the right time!

Lisa , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
From the time I was a small girl I always had a camera in my hand. I remember my first nice film camera. I treated it like a baby. It was my pride and joy. Fast forward several years later, many of my friends would comment on how beautiful my images always were. I decided to take a chance and start photographing high school seniors, which then quickly turned into weddings. It was the perfect “marriage”. I love people and I love capturing them! I work hard (really it’s not that hard) to make all my clients feel confident and comfortable while I capture them for who they are! I take great pride in the experience I create for my clients as well as the beautiful images that are produced. When someone leaves their session or their wedding is over they should always feel good about themselves and excited about their images. I’m so proud of the fact that my clients can’t wait to see their images!

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Word of mouth has always been the best source of new clients. By creating a positive experience others will refer you! A lot of my referrals not only come from word of mouth referrals, but also on social media where people ask about photographers in the area! It is always so exciting to see previous clients and friends tag me in these posts!

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
You should always leave a photography session feeling good about yourself! Whether it be a senior session, a wedding, or even a family session I strive to make my clients feel comfortable in front of the camera as well as confident and beautiful. It’s their time to shine and they should feel amazing! Making people happy is what drives me!

- Other: Hey! I recently went through a business name change. Most people think Lisa Marie came from my first/middle name. Actually the Marie part was my previous business partner’s name. She quickly decided the entrepreneurial journey wasn’t for her. I kept the name for several years, but recently I decided to make it all my own.
