We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Lisa Mcmiller. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Lisa below.
Lisa, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Crazy stuff happening is almost as certain as death and taxes – it’s technically “unexpected” but something unexpected happening is to be expected and so can you share a crazy story with our readers
One of the things was when we decided to offer mental health therapy in the barbershop and to know my whole community was in support of it. Being able to partner with other like minded organizations and to have them to support us along our Journey. We provided mental health and wellness in our barbershop along side a licensed therapist to assist.

Lisa, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Lisa McMiller me and my husband Lashon Bo Harris open our salon in 2017 right before the pandemic and was doing very well with our salon. We run a multi cultural salon where we service all cultural offerings people. Our salon have women and men working in it. Specialize in natural hair, straight hair, dreads, low cuts, fades and more what makes our salon so special is me and my husband decided to do something different in the community we serve and that was to see how we can meet black males in a very comfortable setting and address the mental health and mental wellness of our black men. How can we assure our black men are receiving the help and proper support they need and deserve. We started when we first open the shop offering therapy in the barbershop and brought on a licensed therapist to support our men. We never limited to just men because we had women that wanted to come so we started opening up for everyone. But non the less we gave back while running a business. We have a signature brand because we know how to create a family in the business which keep the clients come back for more. Hair Cutz and therapy.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
One of the stories I can share is the work we do in our community speaks volume across the state line because we have worked along side doctors, community leaders and more to bring change in the community/ barbershops. We started hosting in our barbershop and then took it to different barbershops and we also landed on FAU college providing mental health for men. The best part about it all is knowing we have built such a safe space in our barbershop with the community of people that patronize our establishment. We do LITTLE THINGS WITH EXCELLENCE.

How’d you meet your business partner?
I meet my awesome business partner working with him over 30 years ago. My business partner so happens to be my other half, my husband, my best friend. When I met my husband I never thought we would last for 29 years we are like night and day. We are total opposite. My husband stood beside me for it all. Like my year and a half long battle with cancer. My husband gave me an automotive if I don’t marry him and this was around the time I was either finishing up with all my treatments. Bo has been so amazing as my partner in business. He is like the calm to the storm. Bo is just a all around stand up guy.
