We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Lisa Marie Morton. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Lisa Marie below.
Lisa Marie, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love for you to start by sharing your thoughts about the pros and cons of family businesses.
I think a family business can be a wonderful thing if done correctly.
That means you may lose battles, but still win the war overall. To win the war means to fulfill the vision for the family as well as the business. Keep priorities in order.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers?
After receiving this word from God, I developed an inner boldness at that moment. I made the decision to learn as I go. In doing this I learned the process of developing a personal brand, launching multiple businesses, authoring a book, monetizing public speaking, and so much more. My experience lead me to develop a proven strategy for success. The struggles I encountered throughout my journey, caused me to have a heart for others going through their journey into purpose.
Through my proven strategy for success I help people accomplish their dreams. I provide a support system, a network of mentors, and business strategists to assist in the journey to purpose.
Mentorship’s in a variety of industries such as:
Motivational speaking, writing and publishing a book, becoming an influencer or a brand, e-commerce, entrepreneurship, real-estate, and so much more.
We offer A-Z guidance throughout the process of your becoming.
We eliminate the trial and error aspect of starting any business endeavor.
What sets us apart from others is we don’t have the mentality of holding trade secrets to our chest. We’re a company that thrives on providing people with the knowledge and trade secrets we’ve obtained throughout our journey to success.
How do you keep your team’s morale high?
In my life and career I’ve had the privilege to manage many teams throughout many industries and a variety of circumstances. I have learned through trial and error what works best to keep a team motivated, producing optimal results, and enjoying what they do.
When managing a team whether you’re a C.E.O of a company, manager of a project, or a leader of a church the formula of success is the same. You must be a servant leader with a vision as well as provide a structured environment.
A team will always respond best to a person who is in the so called trenches with them, not someone who is disconnected and comfortably seated in authority giving orders.
A team enjoys working along side their leader. A leader who is willing to pull up their sleeves and work hard for the vision inspires the people around them to do the same.
As a leader you must be willing to work hard for the vision while respecting and serving your team as they work hard for you.
Always show compassion and appreciation to every single person on your team. Being personable keeps moral up.
A vision for the organization or project must be in place. Without vision the people perish. People need something they are working towards. What’s the big picture? What is their energy and efforts going towards?
In addition to a vision for the organization or project, people need the step by step strategy to achieve the goal or vision.
Gain an understanding of who is on your team and what are their strengths and weaknesses. Place them in positions that they will thrive in according to what they’re strong at.
A major issue can occur when you as a leader misplace people. People on your team can become frustrated quickly and lose moral due to feeling inadequate for the role they’ve been asked to fulfill if placed incorrectly. One of the best things you can do is assign roles strategically and properly as well as provide them a list of duties for them to complete. Another aspect of being a good leader is you must provide a good environment for your team to work in.
People crave a structured, well organized, and healthy environment. A structured, well organized, and healthy environment provides stability. People enjoy stability. A healthy stable work environment is great for mental health. When you consider how many hours a day is spent in the work environment, you realize how that time is spent is important. Time is valuable and everyone desires to spend their time wisely and in a good thriving environment.
A good work environment motivates people and causes them to trust the leaders decisions. A team can trust a leader who prioritizes their well being as well as the the success of the organization. When your team can trust you and your decisions they’ll work hard for the organization and vision.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I had to unlearn the philosophy of “keep trade secrets close to your chest”. I entered the work force at the age of 18 when I got my real estate license. I immediately entered timeshare sales. Timeshare is a very competitive industry. The sales training and experience is amazing in the timeshare industry. An aspect of such a competitive industry is to keep trade secretes to your chest. You can’t afford to share them and help your competitors succeed. Their success could lead to your downfall in certain ways.
I worked in the timeshare industry for about 10 plus years and gained much needed knowledge and experience that I could bring into any industry or project. However, I did have to unlearn the philosophy of keeping to myself what helped me to become successful.
I’ve learned it is more rewarding and better to share success tips and be a mentor of sorts, than to be a competitor always looking over my shoulder so to speak.
I enjoy helping people accomplish their dreams.
