We were lucky to catch up with Lisa Joshua recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Lisa thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
Rebuild Black Wall Street Foundation The story of Black Wall Street is a tragic one. In the early 20th century, Tulsa, Oklahoma was home to a thriving African American community that was a beacon of economic success and cultural pride. However, in 1921, a white mob attacked and destroyed the community, killing as many as 300 people and leaving thousands homeless.
Today, efforts are underway to rebuild Black Wall Street and recapture some of the spirit of that once-great community. One such effort is the Rebuild Black Wall Street Foundation, which aims to promote entrepreneurship and economic development in African American communities across the United States.
The foundation works to create opportunities for black entrepreneurs to start and grow their own businesses, providing access to resources, mentorship, and networking opportunities. They also focus on financial literacy and education, helping individuals and families build wealth and achieve financial stability.
Ultimately, the goal of the Rebuild Black Wall Street Foundation is to create thriving, self-sufficient communities that are built on a foundation of economic empowerment and social justice. Through their work, they hope to honor the legacy of the original Black Wall Street and help build a brighter future for generations to come.

We’d love to hear your thoughts about selling platforms like Amazon/Etsy vs selling on your own site.
Yes, we do sell merchandise on the website. We use outside vendors to produce our merchandise and sell directly through them.
Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
To help me manage day-to-day business I have read and used the book “You Can Negotiate Anything”. by Cohen, Herb. This book has been instrumental in helping me set up my business, ask for support, and deal with complex issues. It comes down to a conversation and how you maneuver through the negotiation can make the difference in the outcome.
