Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lisa Hynes. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Lisa, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s the best or worst investment you’ve made?
The best investment that we have made for our firm has been good software. I really feel that good software has made all the difference in streamlining our processes and making the day to day grunt work easier so we can really focus more on the creative aspect of our firm.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My partner Heather and I own HW Interiors, an interior design firm based in Wellington FL with projects all over the United States and beyond. We do mostly high end residential design including new construction, remodels and of course full furnishings only. We started our firm five years ago at my kitchen table with our seven kids and four dogs running around and eventually as the projects kept coming, we eventually took the leap and moved into an office and got serious about the business. Once we did that, we really grew exponentially and began to add to our team. We are now a firm of six with two junior designers, one accountant and one assistant. in addition to the two of us. We really believe that once we invested in ourselves and acquired the office space, that was when we began to take ourselves more seriously as a brand and that is when we really began to take off. Now we are approached by clients around the globe who appreciate our design aesthetic and organized project management style and want to work with us.
We’d love to hear about you met your business partner.
Heather and I actually met when we were both stay at home moms. We were friends who hung out socially and I was actually building a new home for my family and I knew she had some design experience. I had plenty of organizational experience and ideas about what I wanted, but wanted someone else’s trained eye to bounce ideas off so we combined our skill sets and finished off my home beautifully. After that, other people inquired if we would take on additional projects and the business sort of began organically.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Social media engagement is all about the effort you put in. There are lots of engagement groups, Pods as they are called, that you can join that will increase your interaction with like minded individuals who help build your engagement. Being a relatable presence also helps- we find that people appreciate when you show them the reality behind the instagram as well.
