We were lucky to catch up with Lisa Frick recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Lisa, thanks for joining us today. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
Infinite Wishes Foundation is in memory of my best friend, (Lisa, Executive Director) Donna’s (President) sister-in-law, and Al’s (Vice President & Treasurer) sister, Joan, who developed stage IV lung cancer at the age of 53. Since she was a young girl, it was Joan’s dream to swim with the dolphins. She loved dolphins and anyone that knew her, knew that, too!
Joan’s dream came true on April 17, 2013. Sadly, we lost Joan eight months later, on December 20, 2013. In honor of her life and her commitment to helping others, we founded Infinite Wishes Foundation to help other adults with life-threatening illnesses have their wishes fulfilled.
We are an all-volunteer group of caring and dedicated individuals that came together to organize a nonprofit foundation. Each of us brings something different to the foundation, but we all have the same goal; the desire to make a difference in the lives of adults facing a life-threatening illness. We started with an inspiration by our experience with Joan, and it all fell into place with the help of friends and family.

Lisa, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I had an extensive background in fundraising at a volunteer level in our community. My experience included organizing fundraisiers for my children’s school, community organizations, and for our church.
What I am most proud of is our entire team of volunteers that help to make our organization what it is today. Their dedication and committment is unparalled. Our co-founder, Donna Werdann, is a tremendous asset for our charity. She brings an extensive background in business administration and her skills are especially important to our charity’s success.

How’d you meet your business partner?
I met our co-founder, Donna, in 2013. Donna was Joan’s sister-in-law, married to Joan’s brother, We connected during Joan’s cancer battle and have been connected ever since. Donna help us develop the nonprofit and is responsible for naming our charity “Infinite Wishes Foundation”.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Over the years, we have made a conscious decision to pivot in times of distress and crisis. Through our “Infinite Hope” program, we go beyond our primary mission to help communities and folks in need.
In 2020, we redirected our mission during the Covid-19 pandemic to help folks with life-threatening illnesses that were unable to safely go to the grocery store, and may suffer from food insecurity. Our “Infinite Hope” program delivered hundreds of Omaha Steak pacakges to sick adults and delivered over 1,000 sandwiches to frontline workers in FL and NJ.
We are now accepting monetary donations to assist local and regional groups and nonprofits that are stepping up with relief efforts for FL, NC, GA & TN. With donated funds, we will purchase supplies and deliver them to selfless individuals and organizations that are providing direct relief to the victims of Hurricane Helene& Hurricane Milton.
