We recently connected with Lisa Frick and have shared our conversation below.
Lisa, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
Infinite Wishes Foundation is in memory of my best friend, Donna’s sister-in-law, and Al’s sister, Joan, who developed stage IV lung cancer at the age of 53. Since she was a young girl, it was Joan’s dream to swim with the dolphins. She loved dolphins and anyone that knew her, knew that, too!
Joan’s dream came true on April 17, 2013. Sadly, we lost Joan eight months later, on December 20, 2013. In honor of her life and her commitment to helping others, we founded Infinite Wishes Foundation to help other adults with life-threatening illnesses have their wishes fulfilled.
Infinite Wishes Foundation is an all-volunteer Florida-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit, adult wish fulfilling organization. Our mission is to improve the lives of adults suffering from the grants wishes to adults with a life-threatening illness through a non-medical, palliative approach. We strive to provide hope and encouragement to patients and their families by offering a therapeutic break from the daily stress and strain that accompanies an illness. By fulfilling wish trips, we hope to create lasting memories that may enhance their quality of life. Our programs also help residents of New Jersey.
The mission of Infinite Heroes is to provide experiences (“Gratitude Tours”) to veterans that have been combat-wounded and are permanently disabled, and/or mobility impaired, or have a service related life-threatening illness. In addition, We have new programs underway to assist veteran organizations that assist homeless veterans.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
We are an all-volunteer group of caring and dedicated individuals that came together to organize a nonprofit foundation. Each of us brings something different to the foundation, but we all have the same goal; the desire to make a difference in the lives of adults facing a life-threatening illness. Through our Infinite Heroes extension program, we honor our veterans and deployed military.

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
I met Donna in 2013, when Joan, her sister-in-law was visiting her at the hospital during one of her many hospital admissions. We immediately connected and formed a bond. When Joan passed away, we decided to carry-on her legacy and in late 2014, formed Joan’s Wish Foundation, Inc. DBA Infinite Wishes Foundation.

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
Donna and I have always fostered a “family” relationship with all of our board members, committee members, and volunteers. We all treat each other as if though they are family, and we have helped many of our volunteers that have faced health challenges as we would any of the recipients that we serve.
We care deeply for our Infinite Wishes Foundation volunteers. We realize that we could not do what we do without the time and dedication they give to the charity.
