We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Lisa Asbell a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Lisa, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. If you had a defining moment that you feel really changed the trajectory of your career, we’d love to hear the story and details.
I was 100 pounds overweight and I decided to radically change my life. I started sharing my journey in social media, it was life changing. I didn’t go viral. I just started posting daily and inspiring others to change their lifestlye! I started sharing practical tips that were helpful to me and it reasonated with other women. They started asking me to be their coach! WOW. I had a corporate job, I had been 100 pounds overweight for decades. Even though I am a nurse, I was not healthy at 317 pounds and honestly I didn’t understand “HOW TO ” change yet, I was doing it. You know what? I was doing exactly the right thing. Simple daily boring mundane things but it was working.
I had an old website I had never used, I found a wonderful helper to update my website and help me with the techincal and customer service tasks. IT was the start of Covid in 2020. I decided to build my business through zoom online. I put up a zoom for $19. How I lost 100 pounds and 120 women paid $19! Well Weight Loss was born. I decided to build a library of all the zooms. Now 3.5 years later over 3,000 women have benfited from our Well Library and Community subsciption plan.
Even thought I am a Registered Nurse for decades, I have always had a side hustle. I love direct sales. I love building people. I thrive on helping people believe in themselves. IT was like the Universe was conspiring.
My defining moment was having customers before a product or service. I had hundreds of women ASKING for help.
The take away from me is. Meet people’s needs. Today, there is more need for community than ever. There is more need to help people navigate life than ever. We all need each other.
I’ve built an amazing community of supportive women and now I am really more of a life coach because we found out that once we made peace with food, weight and the scale, We could work on other things like improving our relationships, finding a hobby, helping others, and so much more!!!
Go where the need is. Focus on serving others. Chances are the thing that you’d most like to change about yourself, is the very thing that others need help with too. Lead the way. You make the change, share it in a meaningful way. You will be on the right path for sure!
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I have a monthly subscription. IT’s like life coaching and weight management coaching for about $1 a day. I also have courses and and elite program that is also afforable.
What sets Well Weight Loss apart from all the other programs is that Well is truly a bonded community, it’s a postive community. No negative, ” I am off the wagon. I can’t do this.” Those types of statements don’t help you reach your goals.
Well Weight Loss is also about the WHOLE person. We are indeed body, mind and spirit, Giving a new client recipes or meal plans without helping them in their stressful, overwhelmed life isn’t helpful!
Well Weight Loss is about CHANGE and TRANSFORMATION. NOT A DIET! I do Teach nutrition but I focus on mindset and changing ” stinkin thinkin”
Women come to me and they are READY to change. If you want to be healthier and happier, The Well Lifestlye could be the answer.
I am most proud that my clients lose 50, 80, 100, and more pounds and yet they rarely mention the weight loss. The talk about how much happier they are. They talk about their relationships, their career, the peace of mind. WOW. It’s amazing. WE have hundreds of testimonials.
Weight Loss is simple science but it’s also very complex to change the human behavior. We help people believe in themselves and we show them HOW to change. IT’s amazing and it works. I am so grateful to share and help so many women all over the World.

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
The book The Slight Edge by Jeff Olson is a great way to learn “HOW TO” change. Many people want to change something about thier life. Who doesn’t want to improve in some area? This book is pivitol to understanding how significant small daily changes are. It’s a brilliant read. It’s used in Universities across the world.
Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
Be yourself. Tell your story. People like real. My whole life, one compliment that comes up over and over is “Lisa, You are so real.” I am! I am not a stuffed shirt, I don’t care to be the smartest in the room, I want to enjoy my life. I want to overcome anything that holds me back from reaching my potention. This is the mindset you need. You have to force yourself to listen, learn and grow daily. Did you know that EVERYONE has ONE thing that bugs them and they wish to change about themselves. Did you know that in only 18 minutes a day of study on internet on that subject in one year, you would be considered an expert? This is so important. Nothing is impossible. My mess ( being 100 pounds overweight) was my story. I turned it around. Be yourself.
