Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lisa. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Lisa, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
“Imperfection is Beautiful” is more than a brand, it’s a movement rooted in self-acceptance, resilience, and authenticity. My mission is to uplift self-esteem and inspire a more inclusive and compassionate community by embracing the beauty found in our flaws, life’s challenges, and the journey of healing.
As someone who has faced bullying, discrimination, learning struggles, and sexual harassment, I know what it means to feel unseen, misunderstood, and pressured to conform. Through these hardships, I discovered the strength to embrace my true self and now, I use that experience to guide others toward the same freedom.
Art became my outlet, my therapy, and my voice. It helped me navigate pain and gave me the courage to keep going. Today, I channel that same healing energy into my artwork, motivational speaking, and life coaching. Everything I do reflects the message that it’s okay to have flaws, to fail, to feel pain and that none of it takes away from your worth.
“Imperfection is Beautiful” stands to remind people that being human means being imperfect. You don’t need to fit into anyone’s mold to be valuable, loved, or strong. My work exists to help others feel seen, heard, and empowered to live as their most authentic selves.
Because the truth is—we are all beautiful, just the way we are.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a local abstract artist, life coach and speaker. I like to call myself Abstract Motivational Artist where I paint for the people to help motivate them through my voice and my works of art. Every speaking engagement I love to bring my paintings to showcase people on what I am speaking about in a visual way. I found that to be a unique approach because I don’t see other speakers do that. It also helps me feel calm and collected when I bring my paintings because it gives me the reminder on why I do what I do. When I do speaking engagements I like to be inclusive with my speeches meaning that I like to provide self-reflective questions, documents, and tips on how they can better their mind and body.
I have decided to include my motivational speeches into programs where people can gain a deeper understanding on who they are as an individuals:
Programs I provide are:
Self-Love Program:
This program is designed to help women to cultivate a strong sense of self-worth, build self-esteem, and gain inner peace. This program consists of motivational speaking, life coaching, and art activities.
This program is also great for Veterans
Youth Enrichment Program:
Benefit for middle and high schoolers.
This program incorporates a diverse range of activities catering to different learning styles. There will be different mindfulness practices, art expression, and interactive games to enhance social skills, leaderships qualities, and self-esteem.
As a life coach I like to call myself Motivational Life Coach- Which is a life coach who bring motivational drive into one on one sessions. In my life coaching services I focus on 3 essential life skills that helped me through challenging times and feel that this is something people are lacking on in todays world; they are self-discovery skills, coping skills, and time management skills. These life skills I have done research and have implemented these into my life and it have made me become a stronger and wiser woman than ever.
Through all that I do, I have seen people have changed their life and changing the way they think about themselves. I have seen lots of smiles and lots of happiness through their eyes because they are finally feeling like they are being seen and heard and now they can use the skills they have learned and not feel ashamed on where they are at in life. To know that they are ways for them to get better!
I am proud that I have created something on my own (without a college degree, and even before chat gpt was a thing) I have created something that doesn’t exist something that is life changing and that people can really benefit from. I am proud that I am a walking proof because what I done for myself worked and I know it can work for others.

How’d you meet your business partner?
My business Imperfection is Beautiful changed so much once I met this wonderful human being name Seth Rubin back in May 2024.
I started imperfection is Beautiful back in 2017 I came out as an artist and decided that my art is imperfect but beautiful in its own ways. I cam out as being an artist and providing speaking engagements then led me to do workshops and then incorporate them into programs and later became a life coach in 2022.
Through my years being in business, it is just so hard to handle all on my own. I have been praying for extra help and extra business assistance. When I do get assistance it always seems like they want to change my layout and change my vision. It made me felt like I was reliving my high school years where people were trying to change me and my work of art. I felt like I wasn’t good enough for anybody.
Having a unique business in average world was so complicated and just seem impossible to get through these people’s mind. There were times I just wanted to give up and not move on because it was mentally draining me more than ever.
Until, I met Seth Rubin; A whole new outlook of my business have changed and my whole look of the community changed as well (good and bad). Seth have made me realize what I missing or what I was not understanding the world we live in. I see that the people I am trying to connect and thinking I would get somewhere is not working. Seth gave me his hand and show me new places and new networking events. It gave me hope knowing there are people who see’s what I see and would like me to keep moving forward.
Seth has made such a huge change in my life and my mission that I stand for. He see’s me and he sees my message!! He was the only one that embraces imperfections and wanted me to keep moving forward.
Seth helped me with:
Creating a whole new outlook with my business by providing arts and networking events together to help the community see the importance of arts.
Creating a Health and Wellness Expo to help the local business get known as well my life coaching services and continuing my love for the arts and fashion by hosting a Mental Health Awareness Runway Show.
Re-design my whole website
Helped me create my podcast “Imperfect Helping Hands” – A podcast to help others learn how to accept their imperfections
This man was a miracle in my business- I wish there was more people like him who can embrace their imperfections and love who they are. But having both of us we will make a bigger and better awareness.

We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.
Art has always been a personal passion its a hobby that helped me express what words couldn’t. But through my struggles, I came to realize that my art wasn’t just healing for me, it had the power to inspire and impact others as well. That realization led me to embrace my identity as an artist in 2017. By 2020, I officially launched Imperfection is Beautiful as a business.
Since then, Imperfection is Beautiful has offered a variety of services including art workshops, motivational speaking engagements, art sales, and life coaching. I’ve hosted events that brought people together in meaningful ways, and I noticed a strong interest in experiences that combine creativity, healing, and real-life storytelling. That inspired me to expand into event hosting which are incorporating my art, coaching, and message of self-acceptance into each gathering.
Running a full-time business hasn’t been easy, especially when it comes to generating consistent income. I continue to work on the side while actively spreading my brand and message throughout the community.
One powerful thing I’ve learned is that people connect deeply with my story. After hearing about my journey, many are moved to support my art and services. That response inspired me to write and publish my first book, Painting the Path of My Life, which I started in 2018 and released in May 2024. I was amazed by the response, the book resonated with so many, and it opened up new doors for awareness, connection, and growth for my business.
