Hi Lisa , thanks for joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
The main mission behind Lisa & Bailey Home Decor is my faith. During my career I have worked within environments where I have felt the need to participate within company activities that I do not believe in. Even not participating in these activities, you become aware and feel the discomfort and disconnect from your team/company.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Living in New York the city of dreams, I never forget my idea of wanting to start my own business. Anytime you’re out and about in New York, people are always hustling for a better life. I would think to myself, “If they can make it happen, so can I!
At that time was working in within the fashion industry which did not coincide with my beliefs. Also, knowing in the back of my mind that any company you invest your time and effort into can drop you like a dime at any given time. I knew I wanted my own business to set my own standards, something that was right on track with what I believe. A company I fully could standby.
With Lisa & Bailey Home Decor I get to promote things I love and are passionate about! Home decor, pets and a love for sharing truth of the gospel! I am faith based a believer in Jesus Christ.
I firmly believe items in your home are just as important and are often overlooked! There are a lot of companies that offer home decor items or gifts however, some people don’t know the intentions of what certain items can bring into your home or life.
With Lisa & Bailey Home Decor I strive to provide uplifting, positive items ranging from home decor, pets and gifting.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
As new business owner on social media. I’ve attracted most of my followers by simply posting what I love. Whether it was products I sell from my online store, my adorable sidekick Bailey and faith-based content that encourages myself and others in this walk of faith.
The best advice I would give is, keep going and don’t get discouraged. There are many times where I’ve felt overwhelmed and wanted to close down my shop but just keep going.
We’d love to hear your thoughts about selling platforms like Amazon/Etsy vs selling on your own site.
I started with Shopify as my ecommerce platform. Simply because I’ve heard many small businesses used them. They are actually great. I love that Shopify will help you setup your shop online and answer questions you may have great or small.
