We recently connected with Linny Monteiro and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Linny thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
Relocating from Brazil to settle in a foreign country, miles away from my family and childhood friends, and venturing into a place where I wasn’t fully proficient in the language, all at the age of 20, marked the most significant risk I had ever undertaken in my life. It had always been my aspiration to become proficient in English and attending a university in the United States stands out as one of my most significant achievements. Looking back now, with the benefit of age and experience, I realize that being courageous and pursuing my dreams propelled me far beyond my wildest expectations.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My passion lies in collaborating with diverse voices and brands, and this is a driving force behind my role as a Social Media Marketing Manager and Designer.
I provide marketing services in three languages, Portuguese, Spanish, and English, with my primary emphasis on crafting content and branding for influencers and brands.
I take great pleasure in the art of conceptualization, which involves merging research, strategic insight, empathetic engagement, and design to yield purposeful and impactful outcomes. I take immense pride in my ability to partner with creators and inclusive brands.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative is witnessing my ideas materialize and collaborating with brands and influencers who are making a positive impact on the world. As an immigrant, my personal mission is to inspire others and provide support to brands and influencers who share this aspiration.
How did you build your audience on social media?
First, letting my unique cultural background shine through and building a portfolio- remember, authenticity is key!
Next, know your audience, understand their cultural interests, their passions, and what they care about. This is how you connect on a deeper level. Share your personal stories, the ones that really mean something to you. Show your followers what makes you, well, you! That’s how you create that one-of-a-kind bond.
Stand up for causes that touch your heart. Your audience will see that you’re more than just content; you’re about making a difference. Use eye-catching visuals to tell your multicultural story.
Build a community with your followers. Chat with them, get their opinions, and foster discussions. It’s all about creating a sense of belonging. Don’t forget to share the scoop on cultural events, holidays, and traditions close to your heart. This builds a shared cultural experience with your followers.
And remember, this journey is a two-way street. Keep learning from your audience, adapt, and grow together.
