We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Lindsey Wilson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Lindsey , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s start big picture – what are some of biggest trends you are seeing in your industry?

The biggest trend I see in the >> Indy this should be the word insurance industry is that most people tend to believe they do not need life insurance and have no desire or intention to secure life insurance.

Lindsey , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I began with an interest in life insurance after my husband passed away without a policy of his own and ended up having to be cremated. I had life insurance on myself at my employer through a group plan however at that time I was unaware of what type of policy I had and the benefits of how it could work for me while living due to lack of education provided by the agent.

After my husband passed it made me realize the need for awareness and education about having life insurance in our local community. I decided to take the pre-licensing course and obtain my life insurance license.

At Saifway Insurance, we curate life insurance and financial plans to fit each individuals specific lifestyle.

I am most proud because I have brought awareness in regards to the need of life insurance to some in my local community. This will be an ongoing task and work in progress.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?

Word of mouth has been the best source of new clients.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?

I have read a few books that have helped me through out such as The Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey and The 5 Levels of Leadership by John Maxwell.
