We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Lindsey Treankler. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Lindsey below.
Alright, Lindsey thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
On July 1st 2015 during an indoor soccer championship game mid-way through the 2nd half I took a shot on goal, landed on my right leg and felt what I thought was a hyperextension. Convinced it was just a sprain. It took me two weeks before I agreed to see a Doctor. With just a couple movements of my knee he spoke the words I feared, a torn ACL. I got to my car and broke down crying. I was angry. I blamed myself. More than anything I felt a loss. I couldn’t play the sport I loved and my social life which centered around soccer would come to a halt.
Within a couple days, I was on a mission. To research as I much as I could about ACL recovery. I asked me Doctor for information but he wasn’t able to give me much support. Just that he would approve post-surgery physical therapy. So, took to the internet. I struggled to find any approach that fit my need and what I was looking for so I took pieces of a few protocols, and created my own individualized pre-op and post-op exercise program.
I also decided to make some major dietary changes, since I was going to be immobile for 6 months, 3x/week pizza, cereal, sugar laden coffee wasn’t ideal. I decided on an elimination diet that included sugar, dairy and gluten. An amazing byproduct, the cystic acne I had since 6th grade went away, the low-grade headaches my doctors couldn’t seem to figure out, went away.
Unfortunately, I re-tore that same ACL 11 months later which required 6 additional major surgeries over the course of 2 years for me to finally say enough and follow my passion for exercise and nutrition – Thank you – purpose heard loud and clear. Fortunately I had plenty of experience putting my protocols into place.
I was angry, frustrated and disappointed in the healthcare system but this was just a scapegoat. I was responsible for not making my mind and body a priority. Now, as an Integrative Health Practitioner, Personal Trainer, Yoga Instructor and health coach I want everyone to take control of their health and wellbeing. With grounded mind body brew, I am here to provide individualized programs and protocols that when implemented with consistency will create incremental changes which over time lead to a longer, healthier and more grounded life.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
As an Integrative Health Practitioner, Certified Yoga Instructor, NASM Certified Personal Trainer, Orthopedic Exercise Specialist, and Metabolic Health Coach, I’m here to use my knowledge and experience to empower others on their journey toward living longer, healthier and more grounded lives. I want to help people get to the underlying cause of their dis-ease, illness and symptoms.
As an Integrative Health Practitioner and Health Coach I want to integrate the use of science based at-home lab testing with the use of plant-based medicine that can be found through supplementation of vitamins, minerals and herbs. I like to think of myself as a health detective. There are two main reasons why most people experience symptoms of illness and dis-ease of the body – a deficiency of some kind or a toxicity. My job as health detective is to find out what those imbalances are optimize them so that can be in harmony with the rest of the body.
As.a Personal Trainer and Yoga Instructor I want to help my clients achieve their strength, health and performance goals. I believe that our longevity and overall health depend on a grounded foundation that includes strength, power, balance, flexibility and overall cardiovascular health. We each have our unique strengths and challenges. I take an individualized approach that takes each person’s goals and matches them with the optimal way of achieving those goals.
Grounded’s goal is to provide each client with a strong foundation from which to build upon. We follow a 3F Foundational Protocol – Focus Fitness Fuel.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Word of mouth! My goal from the onset was to make each and every client my priority. To give them my best each and every time I see them, talk to them, or reach out to them. I want to make sure they know I care and that I am here to support them every step of the way. I put a high value on reliability, compassion, trust and integrity. I’d rather have 100 people who love what I’m doing and who i’ve created brand loyalty with than a million people who follow me but don’t have a clue as to what I do or the services I offer.
I love the small community I’ve developed. I have great relationships with my clients and in return they have given me the best of gifts – referrals to their friends and family. Social media allows me to connect with people in a different and creative way but ultimately it is the relationships I’ve formed with my clients that has led to more and more clients over the years.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
I text or message each of my clients nearly every week. I keep track of their struggles and congratulate their successes. I put out a weekly newsletter called the “Fast 5” that provides easy to consume and hopefully helpful information in line with Grounded’s mission – to support individuals on their journey toward living longer, healthier and more grounded lives. I also offer as unbiased advice as I can. I am honest. If I think something might work for them I share it, if I would try something else, I also share it. I want people to be happy. I want them to feel that I am giving them my best, because I am. I go the extra mile. I answer all questions that come my way. When I don’t know an answer to a question, I let them know that I don’t have an answer but I will get back to them and then I get back to them.
