We recently connected with Lindsey Paige and have shared our conversation below.
Lindsey, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear from you about what you think Corporate America gets wrong in your industry and why it matters.
I would say that not showing appreciation had become a huge issue when serving customers and partners, so much so that when a company goes out of its way to show they value their client, often times it can be met with surprise.
That’s a big thing we stumbled upon with Paige Patisserie, our customers were searching for new and meaningful ways to show their employees and clients that they valued their investment. But so many gifts nowadays are more about quantity rather than quality, and fail to leave a lasting impression.
Lindsey, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
At Paige Patisserie we design gourmet truffles for events, and corporate gifting. Our products are made of organic chocolate, imported from family-owned farms in the Ghana, Haiti and the Dominican Republic. The chocolate is stone ground using Molinos, and the minimal processing preserves its rich, bold flavors.
Similarly, we support our local farms in North Carolina by purchasing eggs, preserves and butter, and nuts, which are key for the ganache filled center of the truffles. Not only do we deliver locally, but also ship our show-stopping treats nationwide. Chocolate is our passion, and we create an unrivaled dessert experience. We invite you to give a unique gift to a unique person in your life, because they deserve it.
We are a B2B company. and serve our customers by providing memorable and customizable dessert experiences. It’s our goal to make sure that our clients know we put craft, quality and time into every gift we make, and that the finished product will convey our premium brand as such.
As the owner, I got into making chocolate while looking for others creative outlets. I have eights years of experience as a graphic designer, and was getting burned out with constantly designing work. With this, I can apply my skillset to packaging, business, and building out the brand of Paige Patisserie.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective strategy we have incorporated in order to grow our clientele has been personal interactions. Wedding Venues, networking events, and word of mouth connections has opened the door to face to face meetings, sharing samples, and building relationships. When someone on our team is able to form a personal connection with a potential client, we then work diligently to stay in front of the potential client, interacting on a personal level, emails, text messages, and even in person meet ups for coffee or lunch. This strategy has proven effective repeatedly, and we are very proud of our personal approach toward growing our clientele.
Can you talk to us about manufacturing? How’d you figure it all out? We’d love to hear the story.
We manufacture all of our products at our commercial kitchen location based in Raleigh, NC. Our main chocolatier has been making different kinds of chocolates since childhood, is self taught, and we are blessed to have her on our team. We do everything in house besides our gift box manufacturing,
The biggest thing we’ve come to learn and appreciate, is the benefit of shopping local. We get 90% of our ingredients locally, from farmers market (eggs, milk, preserves, syrup, nuts etc.) and specialty vendors (Gabi’s Grounds Coffee, Chapel Hill Toffee). Our chocolate comes from a family farm in the Dominican Republic. The benefits are transparency in production, more consistent pricing, long lasting relationships, and overall we get premium ingredients, which properly reflects us as a premium and artisan brand.
