Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lindsey Holmes. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Lindsey, appreciate you joining us today. What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?
I have been so blessed, in my life, to have a mom who always pushed us to be our best. We were encouraged to give our very best in everything we did, we never missed a week at church, and she ensured we understood the value of treating everyone with kindness and respect (regardless of their status, position, social class etc). My mom was also a business owner herself. As a single mom, she worked so hard to provide for my sister, brother, and me. I always saw how driven she was and how she never gave up. Her perseverance was so inspiring. Were there difficult times? Absolutely! I remember her going grocery shopping, at Kroger, at midnight. Why midnight? Well, that is because Kroger used to let you find any food that was passed their “sell by” date and give it to you for free. So, as a single mom of 3 kids, she took advantage of that and would find the foods that had just passed the “sell by” date by shopping at midnight.
Her drive to succeed, provide a life for me and my siblings where we were never without and a strong work ethic are qualities that I saw my mom live out and I learned to take on myself.
As a business owner myself, I have learned from her example in how I run my company. As a Travel Agency that just weathered COVID, perseverance and determination were essential. I will forever be grateful for the incredible example that I had, in my mom, which taught me such a strong work ethic. Which in turn, helped me to make sure my company survived this global pandemic.
Lindsey, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Well, as a Travel Agency in 2022, coming our of COVID was a HUGE test of our resilience and if it were not for the incredible team of agents that I have working for me, the partnerships with our amazing suppliers, as well as our loyal clients then we would not have made it through. When the pandemic hit, all travel came to a screeching halt. Trips were cancelled, trips were moved, suppliers closed up shop and filed bankruptcy, insurance companies were refunding money quicker than it was coming in…it was a mess, to say the least. However! Our team persevered. They got in there, dug their heels in and serviced their clients trips and did exactly what needed to be done at a time where they could have been discouraged, defeated, overwhelmed, and ready to give up. But they did not. They are the true rock stars. They showed grit, determination, drive, and an unbelievable amount of camaraderie with one another. Our clients are so happy and grateful to have had their trips booked with us so they did not have to mess with the headaches of dealing with the suppliers to have their trips moved or perhaps they were waiting on them to issue a refund etc. So resilience to us, in one word, can be summarized to the last 2 years of the pandemic. We did not give in or give up.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
Sometimes life calls you to pivot. You may not always know the reason, but the pivot can be so good for you! In my personal life, I was brought to a point of pivot when I realized that God was calling me to homeschool my 4 children. I thought “homeschool?! Me? What? I am not equipped for this and not even sure that I want to do this.” Well, I listened and decided to trust, therefore taking my kids out of public school and bring them home for me to educate them at home. Now, there was no reason for me to take them out of public school. They had incredible teachers. whom I loved. However, once I brought them home, I knew it was the right decision. I love the time that I get with my kids, which is so fleeting. I have cherished every day with them and would do it over again if given the choice.
