We were lucky to catch up with Lindsey Bean recently and have shared our conversation below.
Lindsey, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you share an important lesson you learned in a prior job that’s helped you in your career afterwards?
When you’re on film sets it is expected for something to go wrong. Whether there’s budget issues, equipment not working, over inflated egos, or scheduling conflicts; you will always learn how to keep moving. I’ve been on film sets where it was complete chaos with no organization or proper planning. Luckily I enjoy helping out anywhere I can. I’ve gotten to step in before as a script supervisor as well as a production assistant. I love getting to experience new roles in the film industry. Getting to learn how every single person contributes to a film really makes me appreciate the crew even more as an actress.
Lindsey, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I have spent the last several years acting, modeling, and producing in the film and entertainment industry. I’ve gotten to work on dozens of short films as well as a feature film. I’ve been published in several modeling magazines as well. My passion right now is heading towards producing films. I really enjoy seeing people’s creativity and reading their scripts. I love hearing their stories and want to help them get their story told. Helping someone see their vision come to life is a very fulfilling experience.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My main goal is to try to get as many unique stories made as possible. I love hearing new perspectives and new ideas. There can be too much mundanity in entertainment these days and I feel it is incredibly important to reach out to fresh faces and new creators.
Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
With modern technology there is so much information available at our fingertips. I believe researching your preferred career as much as possible is very important. If someone wants to be an actor there are countless videos on Youtube with acting tips, as well as breakdowns of actors’ performances in TV and film. There are so many blogs and websites with interviews with people from all parts of the industry. Gather as much information as you can.
