We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Lindsay Parkin. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Lindsay below.
Lindsay, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Have you ever had an amazing boss? What did you learn from them? Maybe you can share a story that illustrates the kind of boss they were or maybe you can share your thoughts on what you think made them an awesome person to work for?
I have worked at the St. Lucie Draft House since 2009, and the owner, Tami Mchale, is one of the most amazing bosses I’ve ever had! At the age of 16, Tami hired me as a hostess. In high school, she was the perfect boss because she was supportive of extracurricular activities and would always schedule me around my cheerleading schedule.
One year in high school, my family was going through a hard time and wasn’t able to afford competitive cheerleading. My coach reached out to local businesses for me and a few of my teammates, and Tami from the St. Lucie Draft House made it possible for me to continue doing what I loved. And my story is just one of many. The way she supports her staff is above the rest.
We have gone on “Employee Morale Trips” where she treats us to a day on the water, or a concert, just to all have a great time together. The friendships we build with the co-workers at Drafthouse turn into family, and she helps build that mentality. This is something I have adopted in my own leadership and with my work family at LEP.
Then when I moved away to college, she would let me work at the restaurant when I would come home for Spring & Winter Breaks. And when I came home from college she had a job waiting for me. We have a saying at Drafthouse, “Once a Drafthouse Girl, Always a Drafthouse Girl”!
She’s a boss who works alongside her staff, and is apart of the team. She runs a women owned & operate business that has been successful for 30 years this year. She always does what she feels is right, and has everyone’s best interest at heart.
Lindsay, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Being on a venue’s Preferred Vendor List! Often clients book their venue before booking a planner.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
First thing I did was hire a Social Media Manager. Best decision I ever made! We changed my personal Instagram account to my business profile so that I didn’t have to try and start from scratch with followers and she has been creating content ever since.
