We were lucky to catch up with Lindsay Hyatt recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Lindsay thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
When I launched my business full time in 2021, I had only one mission: to do what I love, what I’m good at, while having total control over my own schedule, and provide for my family. Those things are all still important to me, but I’ve learned that I am here to support women wherever they are in their journeys: moms recovering from the hardships of the pandemic, professionals who feel stuck in the corporate hamster wheel, or entrepreneurs who aren’t sure how to show up authentically as themselves online.
My mission is to empower women to live their best lives.
I do this via 1 on 1 coaching and my group container- The Reprogramming.
Writing is my vessel, and I love to use it to support thought leaders in the energy and wellness spaces.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
After more than 15 years in corporate marketing for various industries, (with one short foray into education as an elementary school teacher,) I had the opportunity to make my lifelong dream come true. I started my own business, Lindsay Hyatt Copywriting in 2021. I write intuitively (as in, without having to follow all the “rules” of selling, persuasion, or any of that yuck,) and create everything from full branding and marketing strategy campaigns to website, email, and sales page copy. I have a soft spot for social media, and love teaching business owners and entrepreneurs how to show up with “high vibe visibility.”
I’ve recently realized how many women, especially mothers, are feeling displaced in their own lives. I was one of them!
They’re desperate for time, space, financial stability, creativity, nurturing, self-care, and healing. Many of them have been in survival mode for years. They’ve become conditioned to put everyone and everything ahead of their own needs and wellness. It is what inspired me to begin the coaching arm of my business.
In my Reprogramming container, we work together to explore elements of celebration, self love & self care, mindset & confidence, movement, relationships, and re-invention. After 6 weeks, students are reconnected to themselves, are filling their own cups, and better able to make room for the beauty in their lives now and in the future.
When you work with me, you’re in good hands. I am proud to provide intuitive copywriting and coaching services meant to elevate people. I have always believed in breaking the rules- doing things as they feel right intuitively, and that is my approach in my own business and while supporting clients in their businesses. Authenticity and transparency is the future of all business- online and otherwise.
My copywriting services include:
– The Retainer Container (a 6-month copywriting service where I work closely with my client to tackle any/all copywriting needs they have.)
– Copybnb (a one day VIP copywriting experience to knock out a project in 24 hours)
– Website in a Week (6 pages of brand new website copy in 7 days)
My coaching services include:
– High Vibe Visibility (1 on 1 coaching in 3, 6, or 12 month containers to learn how to show up and embody your brand authentically online)
– The Reprogramming (a 6 week program for women who are ready to reclaim their lives, their self love and self care, and fully live their best lives- opening themselves for the next incredible chapter.)

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Building a social media following is a slow (and sometimes painful) journey! I’ve been passionate about the possibilities of connecting people and businesses on social since the days of crafting the ideal AOL Instant Messenger away message. #eldermillennial
When I launched my business, I started from scratch on Instagram, and it is still a work in progress. However, I know after years of creating brands online that the slow build is the best build. Instead of pursuing bloated vanity metrics, collecting thousands of followers who have no real interest in your or what you do, you’ll attract the right people over time by providing authentic, consistent, and value-driven content.
I am a proponent of approaching social media in a way that feels most aligned for you, whether it’s posting scheduled static, carousels, or video content, getting crazy with Reels, or having raw, open dialogue on Stories. Whatever feels best for you is the exact right strategy for your brand. I’m not a fan of following trends just to get noticed or doing things that feel uncomfortable or difficult. Social media should be fun and engaging!
For anyone just starting out, I have one word for you: PATIENCE! Have fun, find people you are truly interested in forming relationships with (business or otherwise,) and speak your truth. Someone out there needs to hear what you have to say.

What else should we know about how you took your side hustle and scaled it up into what it is today?
I always dreamed of working for myself, but before 2020- it seemed unlikely and unattainable. I have a family to support, so risks I might have taken in the past for the sake of my career no longer felt feasible. I always knew I had more to offer the world than what the constraints of corporate life provided.
After I had my second daughter and the pandemic began, my husband was laid off from his job, and suddenly there we were- 2 small children, one “maternity leave” salary, and a whole lot of uncertainty. I started to take on freelance copywriting clients. I obtained these clients by applying to regular copywriting positions and suggesting contract work to start. Because of the pandemic economy, most clients were eager to give it a shot- minimal risk! Immediately, I found my professional joy again. Writing is my spark. I’d happily work late into the evenings on my copywriting work, still attending my 9-to-5 remotely after maternity leave ended.
After a few months, I knew I could replace my monthly salary with pure copywriting. So I did it. And it was the best decision I ever made.
If you are a creative entrepreneur, it’s helpful to feel you have a safety net when you make the leap from a traditional salaried job to your own business. If you can layer up income (freelance, passive income, affiliate commission, etc.,) before you leave, it will give you the peace of mind required to focus on building your business, (because if you’re like me, you will become obsessed with it and want to work on it ALL the time!) Having a retainer client or income you know you can count on month to month while finding your voice, your offers, your schedule, and building your brand is very reassuring.
Get help and support wherever and however you can. It’s wonderful when your partner or family supports your endeavor, but that won’t always be the case. Get involved in communities of like-minded business owners, entrepreneurs, coaches, etc., and you will thrive. Having people in your corner that understand your passion and drive for something outside of society’s “traditional box” is necessary while you grow your confidence as a business owner.
If you can take anything off your plate (childcare, home cleaning/management, and so on,) do it. If you have a spouse that can provide health insurance and benefits for your family so you don’t have to, that’s another great support. It will help you carve out space to focus on building.
My biggest milestone to date was the month I made just under $10k with several copywriting clients. It blew my mind that this could even be a possibility, when my entire professional corporate life revolved around begging employers to pay me more than $50k/year. I never cracked $60k- but I can see the unlimited earning potential in running your own business. It’s exciting and empowering!
