We recently connected with Lindsay Ellis and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Lindsay thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
It takes a lot to be successful. Not only do you have to put in the long hours and days but also make sure that your customers who are your friends families and people of the community are taken care of. I believe a strong work ethic and learning from your peers is how we grow at success. I think success also is a balance between family and work life environment. We have been very lucky to have the support from our community, family, and friends to continue to succeed and have success.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
My name is Lindsay Ellis, I was raised in and still reside in Parker County today. I have a husband Chase and an eight-year-old son Blayze. I am a cancer survivor at the young age of 11. I had a previous sales background with 10 years in the swimming pool industry. I started my new adventure as a State Farm agent in 2019. My agent at the time is the one who got me involved (Amy Kaplan). I will be forever grateful, Even though we open during Covid it has been the best decision I can ever imagine. People were stuck at home and looking for ways to save money and cut cost with all the unknowns going on. We help people on a daily basis whether it be something simple as insurance for their home and auto or help them navigate through during the event of a loss or a life changing event. We provide anything from home, auto, business, recreational, and even life and health insurance to cover every aspect. I love being able to do what I do and make sure people are properly covered. I want to have good news to give them on their worst day. I want to make sure when they call me with a problem I have a solution. I want to make sure that I’m the first person they refer to when they think of a friend or family member needing help in the insurance department. I am so proud of my team and how we continue to grow our community involvement time and time again. We love what we do and we love being the “good neighbor” around the corner.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Honestly, we get a ton of walk ins whether that be from Google Reviews or social media. It’s almost like that old-school tradition of just walking in and doing business with us. We also get a lot of referrals whether that be from existing customers, people we do business with, realtors, lenders, family, friends, you name it. We take pride in referrals for sure. We love to be the first choice when someone is looking or needs help.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
We do a lot of events in our community as well as the surrounding cities. We like to be involved in the community. We dont just want to be your insurance person. We want to be a neighbor, we want to be a friend, we want to be a community member, and we want to be involved. When we do events we’re pouring back into our community that trust us and supports us. We get a lot of clients from those events because it’s an authentic relationship versus just a transactional one.
