We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Lindsay Carter. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Lindsay below.
Lindsay, appreciate you joining us today. Is there a lesson you learned in school that’s stuck with you and has meaningfully impacted your journey?
When I was a student at Appalachian State University, majoring in Graphic Communication Management, I took a class that most of my classmates dreaded which was Web Development with Mr. Craft. Everyone complained about the confusing lines of code and long projects, but something about it fascinated me.
I still remember sitting in the computer lab late one afternoon, the hum of the computers around me and the faint sound of rain outside the window. I was trying to get my first HTML layout to work properly. It was frustrating, but when I finally got everything to line up perfectly—the text, the colors, the spacing—I felt this spark of excitement. It was the first time I realized how creativity and logic could come together to build something.
That moment stuck with me because it taught me the importance of curiosity. I didn’t know it then, but those long hours tinkering with code would become one of the most valuable skills in my journey. Today, that curiosity fuels my work as a travel and fashion blogger, running my own website and brand—something I couldn’t have done if I hadn’t leaned into that curiosity instead of the frustration everyone else felt.
The biggest lesson I learned? Pay attention to what excites you, even if no one else seems to enjoy it. Sometimes, the skills that make you different are the ones that end up defining your path.

Lindsay, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Hi! I’m Lindsay Carter, a Las Vegas-based travel and fashion blogger, photographer, and creator who’s always had a deep love for storytelling—whether that’s through words, visuals, or style. My journey started back at Appalachian State University, where I studied Graphic Communication Management and first discovered my love for design, branding, and web development. What began as a curiosity in Mr. Craft’s Web Development class eventually became the foundation for everything I do today—running my own blog and brand.
In 2024, I made the leap to go full-time with my travel and fashion blog, expanding into modeling and UGC (user-generated content) creation for brands. I’ve since built a space online where I can share not just beautiful destinations and fashion finds, but also real experiences—from navigating life with ADHD to building a business that feels authentic and purpose-driven.
My work spans a few areas:
Travel content that helps couples and newlyweds plan their dream honeymoons or getaways
Fashion inspiration that blends coastal, feminine, and timeless style
Digital products and templates designed to help other women entrepreneurs grow their own brands
And my community, The Female Growth, where I share encouragement and tools for women building their dream lives and businesses
What sets me apart is that I approach everything with a mix of strategy and heart. I’ve been on both sides—the business owner and the creator—and I know what it means to build something from the ground up while staying true to your values. I’m proud of the community I’ve built and the women who have found clarity, confidence, and creative inspiration through my content.
At the end of the day, I want people to know that my brand is about more than just pretty photos—it’s about creating a life you love, finding beauty in the details, and empowering others to do the same.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
A few years ago, I had a clear path photographing the Atlanta Falcons, but when COVID hit, that opportunity disappeared almost overnight. I had to pivot quickly. I moved to Texas, transitioned into marketing for a healthcare company, and took a part-time role with the Dallas Cowboys to keep my connection to sports. That role lasted two years, and during that time I realized I wanted to fully pursue my passion for travel. So in 2022, I took the leap and launched my own travel agency and blog. It was a scary shift, but it taught me how to adapt, take risks, and create new opportunities when life throws unexpected challenges your way.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being a creative is the ability to bring a vision to life and share it with others in a way that resonates. Whether it’s capturing a moment through photography, curating content for my blog, or designing experiences for clients, there’s something incredibly fulfilling about turning an idea into something tangible that inspires, entertains, or connects with people. I love that my work allows me to constantly learn, experiment, and express myself while also making an impact on others’ lives.
