We were lucky to catch up with Lindsay Buwalda recently and have shared our conversation below.

Lindsay , appreciate you joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?

I’ve always been someone who finds clarity through movement and nature. Whether running on a scholarship at UCSB, skiing, hiking, doing triathlons, marathons, races, riding horses, or just getting outside to breathe and reset—those moments have always been my compass. They’ve pushed me to grow, to stretch beyond my comfort zone, and to stay connected to what really matters.

Bliss Productions, my first company, grew from a deep love of creating beauty and meaning through events. I built it from the ground up, often learning as I went, driven by heart, grit, and an intuitive sense of what people need to feel seen, inspired, and connected. I create experiences.

BP Collective, Bliss Productions sister Company was born out of that same drive—but it goes even deeper. It’s about curating transformational retreats and adventures that help people (and teams) break through the noise, reconnect to themselves, and access a whole new level of potential. It’s not just about travel—it’s about experience, expansion, and remembering who you are at your core.

BP Collective is rooted in freedom, boldness, deep connection, and the belief that life is meant to be lived fully.

Lindsay Buwalda is the creative expert and visionary leader of BP Collective and Bliss Productions, who with each space carefully crafts her client’s vision into a reality, creating experiences that enliven the senses, and produce lasting, meaningful memories. With impeccable attention to detail, Lindsay is an expert at transforming spaces into a beautiful piece of art.

Lindsay grew up in an entrepreneurial family surrounded by creative and beautiful environments.This set up the perfect foundation for what she wanted to do with her life and what she knows best – creating meaningful atmospheres and events and building trusting relationships with her clients and colleagues. She’s a creator of soul-stirring experiences—whether that’s a beautiful wedding, a bold retreat, or a moment that reconnects you to who you truly are.

Lindsay has a background in Marketing/Branding and Interior Design, fusing a strong foundation for designing and producing events, experiences, and working with her clients and vendors. Prior to founding Bliss Productions, she worked for her father’s custom home building company in Laguna Beach, as well as Ford, First American, and The American Institute of Architects, in Interior Design, producing large events, marketing and branding.

In addition to her event design and planning expertise, Lindsay offers personalized consulting services to share her wealth of knowledge in branding, event design, and interior styling. Lindsay’s consulting services provide tailored insights to help you achieve your goals.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?

One of the most powerful lessons I had to unlearn was caring what others think. For so long, I let external opinions shape my decisions, second-guessing myself in the pursuit of approval. But the more I sought validation, the further I drifted from my own truth. It wasn’t until I consciously chose to trust my intuition—really listen to that inner voice—that everything changed. I realized that when I operate from a place of authenticity, when I embrace who I truly am without fear or hesitation, that is when people resonate with me most. It’s not about being what others expect—it’s about being undeniably, unapologetically me. That shift not only gave me freedom but also attracted the right people, opportunities, and experiences into my life. Confidence isn’t about proving anything to anyone; it’s about knowing and owning who you are. And when you do that, the right people will find you, not because you fit their mold, but because you inspire them to embrace their own truth as well.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

Resilience isn’t just something I talk about—it’s something I live every single day. As a lifelong athlete, routine and discipline have always been second nature to me. I lace up my running shoes almost every morning, not just to train my body but to clear my mind, to process, to move forward—literally and figuratively. Running has been my anchor, my meditation, my reminder that no matter how tough the road gets, I can always take one more step.

That lesson became even more critical when my life took an unexpected turn. Divorce wasn’t just the end of a marriage—it was the beginning of an entirely new reality. I became a single mom to two brilliant, athletic, and deeply intuitive children who needed me to be strong, even when I felt like I was breaking. While navigating relentless legal battles, and the pressures of rebuilding my life, I refused to let my circumstances define me. Instead, I leaned into the things that have always given me strength—movement, nature, and my own intuition.

Building Bliss Productions from the ground up was another testament to that resilience. In an industry where success is built on creativity, logistics, and the ability to perform under pressure, I proved to myself that I could do it all. And now, with BP Collective, I am taking it further—bringing together leaders and visionaries in transformative retreats that inspire them to push past their own perceived limits. Because if there’s one thing I know for certain, it’s that resilience isn’t about never facing challenges—it’s about rising every single time you do.
