Lindsay, appreciate you joining us today. One of our favorite things to brainstorm about with friends who’ve built something entrepreneurial is what they would do differently if they were to start over today. Surely, there are things you’ve learned that would allow you to do it over faster, more efficiently. We’d love to hear how you would go about setting things up if you were starting over today, knowing everything that you already know.
Instead of following the traditional marketing funnel, I would’ve ditched it completely. If I could turn back time, (in the words of Cher), I would focus on speaking to people who are already actively looking for solutions versus targeting those who don’t even know they have a problem. This makes selling so much easier.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I went from being a journalist to a copywriter and eventually editor. Eventually, I started working in content marketing back in 2015 before it was popular to be a marketer. I ran so many successful campaigns for small and local businesses. During the pandemic, it was like the world stopped, so that’s when I hired a licensed psychotherapist for the first time on Instagram.
Her content was speaking to me where I was, so I would binge watch her content and eventually, hired her. Julissa Edwards is an incredible mindset coach and healer. She helped me with my anxiety and depression. She was the woman who inspired me to start my business using the years of knowledge and expertise that was already inside of me.
Since March of 2021, I’ve ran an international business with clients from all different parts of the world. What I’m most proud of is serving my amazing clients who started attracting clients through their Instagram and Facebook content in one week, two weeks, one month and all of them in less than two months. I’m proud of them and always cheering for their success.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the lessons that I had to unlearn was the concept of “working harder.” Hustling was literally making me feel burnt out. There are sustainable approaches to business, so we can still take care of our mind, body and spirit.
I grew up with a very militant mom who taught me to work hard. But I wanted to be like Jeff Bezos, and I realized that most millionaires and billionaires don’t actually work hard. They work SMARTER while others work hard for them. I needed a way to get my time back!
So I started setting boundaries with my work hours, and I took off mandatory weekends. I also started setting up more systems and automation to create a seamless process as I continued to scale my business. I even have a small team now. Little by little, I focused on getting my time back.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
There were three months straight in my business where I didn’t get one new client. I was getting nervous because I only had a couple of clients left on payment plans. That’s when I decided to completely eliminate free discovery calls.
My time is valuable, and all it took was one person paying me to have a consultation to permanently keep me from offering those calls anymore. Our time and energy is sacred, so we cannot give our access away freely. If someone has questions, they can ask me in the direct messages on social media. Ever since I ditched the calls and focused on an online form, I was able to sell high ticket with more ease. In fact, I ended up being booked faster due to the level of exclusivity.
