We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Lindsay and Tom Ludlow a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Lindsay and Tom , thanks for joining us today. Can you tell us about a time where you or your team really helped a customer get an amazing result?
Sure, I’d be happy to share a customer success story about a project that our motion design studio, Tend, worked on. We created a 3D animated ad campaign for Connect for Health Colorado called “Live Your Best Life Colorado,” featuring three unique Coloradoans: Marissa, an urban skateboarder mom, Bill, an eastern plains farmer, and Armando, a digital nomad living in Mesa County.
The campaign was a huge success, and we’re proud to have helped Connect for Health Colorado achieve their marketing goals. Our video had viewability and completion rates and clickthrough rates all exceeding industry benchmarks. We believe this success is a testament to the quality of work done by our motion design studio, Tend.
We’re thrilled that our campaign was able to promote the importance of healthcare for Coloradoans, and we’re proud of the work we did to make it happen, which included working with a talented team of illustrators and animators, as well as utilizing new tech like motion capture and artificial intelligence. Creating compelling, visually engaging content that resonates with our audience is always our goal, and we’re glad we were able to achieve it with “Live Your Best Life Colorado.”

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

Can you share your view on NFTs? (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice)
Funny you should ask, we love NFTs! We’re all about exploring new and innovative ways to express creativity through digital media, and NFTs are a super exciting space to do just that. In fact, Tom has become quite the NFT artist and community advocate under the name Denver Donkey. He’s been creating and selling multiple collections across different crypto-currencies since 2021.
We love the unique opportunity that NFTs offer for artists and creators to showcase their work in a new and exciting way. And we’re always looking for ways to help our clients get in on the action. Tom recently gave an artist talk at Firehouse Art Center in Longmont about AI, NFTs, and the Metaverse. It was well received and sparked a lively discussion about the possibilities of NFTs in the world of art and beyond.
We’re excited about the future of NFTs and see them as an exciting new frontier for creativity and expression.

Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
A few business and organizational tools keep us running smoothly day in and day out. From Asana to Slack to Dropbox, we simply couldn’t function without them. They help us keep all our projects organized, communicate seamlessly with our team, and ensure that everything is running like a well-oiled machine.
When it comes to the creative side of things, we’re always on the lookout for the latest and greatest motion design tools. There have been so many incredible advancements in recent years, and we’re proud to be at the forefront of this exciting industry. We rely on powerful tools like Cinema 4D, Redshift, and Grayscalegorilla Plus to bring our clients’ visions to life in the most vibrant and dynamic ways possible.
But perhaps the most transformative tool we’ve embraced is AI. We’ve found that using artificial intelligence has completely revolutionized our pre-production process, from pitch decks and mood boards to storyboarding and planning. It allows us to work faster, smarter, and more efficiently, freeing up our team to focus on the creative aspects of our projects. We’re so excited about the possibilities that AI holds for the future of motion design and can’t wait to see where it takes us next!
