We were lucky to catch up with Linda Zuniga recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Linda thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Folks often look at a successful business and imagine it was an overnight success, but from what we’ve seen this is often far from the truth. We’d love to hear your scaling up story – walk us through how you grew over time – what were some of the big things you had to do to grow and what was that scaling up journey like?
I would like to say makeup and hair have always been my passion since I was younger. I started doing makeup and hair in high school for just friends and family. After I graduated, I converted this hobby to part while I was in college for my nursing program. I worked in the medical for 2 years. I brought to the worls 2 beautiful girls, so for me, it was easier to be my own boss and be able to be present and not miss any milestones of my daughters. I successfully been in the industry for about 10 years and 2 years full time of having my own business. I’m a traveling artist and have travel to different parts of Texas!

Linda, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m 28 years old , I have been in the beauty industry for more than 10 years . I have successfully learned and continue to take courses to learn new techniques for my clients. I travel all over texas and open to travel to different states . I have build a team for my company to help me when it comes to bigger events. I make sure my clients are happy with the services I’m providing.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I have build my audience by promoting my self on fb and Instagram. A lot of my clients have been referred by clients I have provided services for. I have also made great relationships with texas photographers who have also partner up with me to do makeup and hair services for their clients such as maternity, family, headsets and more. I’m grateful for the opportunity I have gotten through out the years and I can’t wait to expand my business way bigger.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I think I build my reputation by simply, being very straight forward with my clients. Asking them questions such as ” what is your inspiration for Makeup and hair ” or simply asking them what features do they like from their face to what is your everyday look . I have learned that many of clients have never worn makeup or apply their makeup properly due to not having the right products for their skin. I also provide classes for those who want to learn and enhance their everyday makeup.
