We recently connected with Linda Renneisen and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Linda, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear the backstory of how you established your own practice.
My journey into the world of health, nutrition, and wellbeing began from a deeply personal place—a struggle with my own health that eventually became the foundation of my career. Like many, I faced significant challenges with my well-being, and through trial, error, and relentless learning, I found a path that not only healed me but inspired me to dedicate my life to helping others do the same. I realized that a holistic approach to health, combining nutrition, mindful living, and simple daily routines, was the key to long-term wellness. This realization became my passion, and soon after, my career.
The early days of starting my own practice were exciting, but also daunting. I knew that I wanted to take what I had learned and help others, but turning that passion into a business required careful planning and perseverance. The first step was to formalize my knowledge, so I became a certified nutritionist and holistic health consultant. I also pursued certifications in yoga and Ayurveda to broaden my expertise and offer a more comprehensive approach to wellness. Once I had the qualifications, the next challenge was building my brand and establishing trust.
Starting out, I had to build everything from the ground up—developing a client base, creating an online presence, and networking with like-minded professionals and companies. One of the key challenges was navigating the competitive wellness industry and positioning myself in a way that felt authentic to me. I wanted to be seen not just as a coach or consultant but as someone who genuinely inspires people to make meaningful, lasting changes in their lives. This required a lot of patience, persistence, and belief in my mission.
If I could go back and do anything differently, I would have leaned into collaboration earlier. When you’re starting out, it’s easy to feel like you have to do everything alone. But building relationships with others in the industry, including wellness experts and brands, can accelerate growth and create more opportunities. Today, I regularly collaborate with premium brands and resorts, and that has been key to expanding my reach and impact.
My advice for any young professional looking to start their own practice is to stay true to your mission and don’t get discouraged by the early challenges. Building a practice takes time, but if you are passionate and consistent, success will come. It’s also important to be flexible—allow your business to grow and evolve as you gain more experience and insight. Focus on offering value, and never stop learning. Your personal story is your strongest asset, and sharing it will resonate with people and inspire them to trust you as a guide on their own wellness journey.
Today, I’m fortunate to do what I love every day—offering coaching, mentoring, consulting, workshops, and speeches. Through these platforms, I share what I’ve learned, inspire others, and help them find their own authentic path to health and wellness through simple, actionable steps. It’s been an incredible journey, and I’m excited to continue making a positive impact.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My journey into holistic health and wellness began with personal struggles. In my mid-twenties, I faced a series of health challenges including thyroid autoimmune diseases, skin problems, candida overgrowth, a weakened immune system, and a wide range of food intolerances. These issues forced a complete re-evaluation of my lifestyle. At the time, it felt like these conditions were my identity, but with time, learning, and a commitment to change, I was able to overcome them. Today, I am proud to have healed from those struggles and have dedicated my life to helping others do the same.
This shift led to a deep exploration of nutrition, mindful living, and holistic wellness. Through personal experience, it became clear that the path to well-being isn’t about following a one-size-fits-all solution, but rather about truly listening to the body’s needs and making adjustments that are sustainable and tailored to the individual. This philosophy now guides all of my work.
Through foodvibes, a wellness brand built on the idea of raising one’s vibration through the “right” lifestyle and nutrition, the focus is on guiding others to find their unique path to health. There is no universal formula; everyone’s healing journey is personal, and it’s about tuning in to what works for the individual. This holistic, individualized approach sets foodvibes apart in the wellness space.
The services provided range from 1:1 coaching and mentoring to workshops, consulting, and public speaking. Sharing both personal and client stories has been a powerful tool for inspiring others to trust their instincts and take control of their health. The core belief is that true wellness comes from aligning with one’s authentic self, and this is achieved by guiding individuals to listen to their bodies and make small, manageable lifestyle and nutrition changes that create lasting, profound results.
What sets this approach apart is the emphasis on creating sustainable shifts that raise energy, improve mood, and restore health. Transforming clients’ lives through these methods has been incredibly rewarding, with many of them stepping into a healthier, more vibrant version of themselves. The aim is to help people discover their own authentic and healthy path, trusting that small, meaningful changes can lead to big transformations.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Building my reputation within the market started with focusing on myself and getting to know who I truly am. It was essential to begin by healing my own health challenges and understanding my authentic self before helping others. From there, I made a conscious decision to be completely genuine in everything I do—speaking my truth and sharing my own journey in an authentic way.
While this approach may not lead to rapid growth, I believe it fosters a healthier and more sustainable path. It’s not about chasing quick success but rather building something meaningful and lasting. This is also the feedback I consistently receive from clients and followers. They tell me that I stand out because I stay true to myself and provide real, relatable insights. That authenticity has been key to building trust and a solid foundation in my business.
If you could go back in time, do you think you would have chosen a different profession or specialty?
If I could go back, I would absolutely choose the same path. My interest in nutrition and well-being actually began back in school. During my A-levels, I even did a research project for first-grade students, reviewing their lunch boxes and analyzing their nutrition. However, at that time, I didn’t see how this passion could turn into a profession. So, I pursued a career in business, earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration, and working in various fields like tourism, investment, and real estate. I also completed a master’s in project management before finally, at the age of 30, starting my own business, foodvibes.
Looking back, I wouldn’t change a thing. Every step of my career, from business to wellness, has brought me to where I am today. Each experience has shaped who I am and has given me the tools and knowledge to make Foodvibes what it is. All those earlier roles helped build the foundation for my current work, and I’m grateful for every part of the journey.
