We recently connected with Linda Nuanlaoong and have shared our conversation below.
Linda, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. How did you scale up? What were the strategies, tactics, meaningful moments, twists/turns, obstacles, mistakes along the way? The world needs to hear more realistic, actionable stories about this critical part of the business building journey. Tell us your scaling up story – bring us along so we can understand what it was like making the decisions you had, implementing the strategies/tactics etc.
I picked this question because at many times, we could have chosen to expand and/or start up more shops. However, we always felt that would affect the specialized experience we provide our clients. When clients come in, they know who will be working on their vehicles, our reputation. It’s the same consistent experience everytime because we remain a small yet well-known company. And that makes all the difference – that we never scaled up anything but our efforts to continue to serve our loyal customers.
Linda, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Our business revolves around providing elite quality repair work on both high end luxury to economy type vehicles, and exotic, classic, and domestic. My father has been running the shop for decades and has instilled in myself and our team the focus on craftsmanship and customer service that surpasses any other, while still offering fair market price options. We have many loyal customers who have helped us build the A+ Montri Auto brand into one that exemplifies quality, top-notch service, and transparency in sales and fees for service.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
What helped build my reputation in the my market is the ability to carry on my father’s trust with clients the same way he did and use what he taught me and still continues to teach me until this day. My wide knowledge of cars and problem solving skills have helped me succeed in the automobile industry.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Best source of new clients is through word of mouth referral from friends, family, and new clients. Online reviews on the internet have been very helpful as well. My location is key for my business because I am in the heart of Silver Lake, Los Angeles. I have new clients stopping by everyday which is great.
