Alright, Linda thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?

In 2005, I came up with an idea to gather an array of professionals related to health/wellness ,financial literacy, and some other personal and business aspects of life. I also invited some vendors who provided products and services and hosted this event in a three bedroom loft apartment of a close friend. I was excited and nervous at the same time because I wasn’t sure of the turnout, but to my surprise, it was a success. I had over 50 people and cried tears of joy. My process of going from idea to execution was to first decide what were some of the important needs we all face and carefully pick who I wanted to be apart of this event.that would help educate and to make an impact. My first event execution allowed my passion for this to grow more, so I then continued to reach out to more professionals,vendors, etc, to enhance and make a bigger and better impact The main steps to launch my business besides getting registered as an entity with the state of NY, was to have extreme passion, to do my research in finding the right professionals who had the willingness and passion for helping others, to look for necessary products and services for the best interests of the attendees and to locate a event space.

Hi, my name is Linda K Edwards. My profession and background are in the medical field as an LPN. I am also an Entreprenur, LifeCoach/Motivational speaker / radio host. My education, experience, and my passion for helping others are what brought me into these industries. My organization New Me New You Inc. helps to Educate, Enrich, Empower and Inspire Individuals, Families, and Businesses by enhancing them to become better than yesterday and to unlock their potential in every area of their lives by providing them information, resources, referrals and spiritual enhancement. I also facilitate in person events and virtual events via Zoom/Facebook live/YouTube. What I believe sets me apart is my genuine passion, compassion, kindness and èmpathy I have for others. We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?

Social media was introduced to me by my friend, Theresa, and I wasn’t a fan, lol. I was never really good with being online besides just posting inspirational memes and photos. of myself or family/friends. I had no idea how to build it up, and I wasn’t consistently on it. It took me a while to build what I have now by being more consistent. Up until today, I am still a work in progress, but I have come a long way. Actually, it was in 2020 that I really focused on all my social media platforms. I had to in order to facilitate my events because we were in lockdown due to Covid. My advice is for you to stay consistent, & persistent especially if you want your brand to expand it definitely takes patience, time and effort

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?

A huge lesson I had to unlearn is to stop doubting myself. This is something that most of us do that can always sabotage us from moving forward I would make a solid decision about a move I would like to take pertaining to my business and then because of someone else’s opinion etc….I would change my mind. Most of the time your first thought is the right decision. So from now on I always evaluate what I decide before I finalize it, stand firm, and wait for the outcome..
