We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Lina Seijo. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Lina below.
Lina, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
As the co-founder of estilo wei, our mission is to pioneer an art and wellness facility that transcends conventional boundaries, creating a seamless fusion of creativity and holistic well-being. We are dedicated to fostering a nurturing environment where individuals can delve into their artistic passions while nurturing their physical, mental, and emotional health.
At estilo wei, we envision a haven where the realms of artistry and mindfulness intersect effortlessly, providing a sanctuary for self-expression and personal evolution. Through a rich tapestry of artistic mediums, immersive workshops, and therapeutic practices, we endeavor to empower our community to embrace their unique identities and unlock their boundless creative potential.
Fundamental to our ethos is the conviction that art possesses the transformative power to heal and inspire. By offering innovative wellness programs, holistic therapies, and immersive artistic experiences, we strive to promote holistic well-being and foster a profound sense of connection within our community.
This mission holds deep personal significance for me. As an artist who navigated a non-traditional path and grappled with self-identification, I understand firsthand the challenges of the creative journey. I’ve experienced the trials of burnout and the vital importance of prioritizing well-being, whether through exercise, meditation, or breaking detrimental habits. Through estilo wei, I aim to share these insights with the creative community, providing vital support and resources to nurture both artistic expression and personal wellness.”

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
As a Brooklyn-born Dominican-American artist, I passionately delve into the world of photography, focusing on conceptual abstract, fashion, and style. My artistic journey extends far beyond the boundaries of traditional photography, encompassing cyanotype prints, illustration, and even the creation of short films. Lately, I’ve been particularly drawn to experimenting with Light & Refraction, pushing the boundaries of my artistic expression.
Beyond my artistic endeavors, I also serve as the Fitness Administrator for Lancaster Country Club. I hold certifications as a Wellness Coach through NASM, as well as in Pilates, Personal Training, and Fitness Coaching through ISSA. Living in Lancaster, PA, I collaborate closely with my husband, Dennis S. Herbert, as we co-run our art and wellness brand, Estilo wei. Together, we strive to make a meaningful impact at the intersection of visual arts and wellness. My enduring creativity fuels my passion for both art and helping others lead healthy, fulfilling lives.
Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
A handful of books have profoundly shaped my life journey. Among them, Eckhart Tolle’s “A New Earth” stands out, guiding me to a deeper understanding of consciousness and inner peace. Linda Barry’s “What It Is” sparked my creativity with its poignant exploration of the artistic process.
Alan Watts’ “Become What You Are” offered profound insights into self-discovery and existential questioning, encouraging me to embrace authenticity and live in alignment with my true nature. Julie Cameron’s “The Artist’s Way” served as a transformative companion, nurturing my creative spirit and helping me overcome creative blocks.
Lastly, Patti Smith’s memoir “Just Kids” left an indelible mark on me, weaving a captivating narrative of artistic friendship, resilience, and self-discovery in the vibrant backdrop of New York City’s bohemian scene. Each of these books has enriched my perspective, inspired my creative endeavors, and deepened my understanding of myself and the world around me.
Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
We met at an open mic in a place called Hava Java in Allentown and the rest was history.
