We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Lina Saba. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Lina below.
Lina , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s talk about innovation. What’s the most innovative thing you’ve done in your career?
I really love house music and houses so when I created my instagram persona I went with Lina_N_House. I received lots of feedback that it’s a good idea and that no one else was doing that combination. I even started to learn how to DJ and started to incorporate that into my social media as well. I love to share music, so I post my favorite house music song every Friday. As most real estate agents, I am always looking for ways to differentiate myself and this has been one of the ways I stand out.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Ever since we purchased our home about 13 years ago I fell in love with the process and wanted to become a realtor. After having a long career as a stay at home mom, being married for 16 years, and now that my children have gotten older it was finally time to make the career move to Real Estate. My sister was a big driver behind my decision to start an entrepreneurial business. Immediately after my I got my Real Estate license, I was able to help my sister fulfill her dream of buying a home on her own. Helping families is what inspires me on a daily basis!
When you become an independent realtor, you have no choice but to create a business and a brand for yourself. I’m very aligned with what Compass stands for, especially the tech side.
You will find when that you work with me, I bring a unique value to the table (whether it be the kitchen table, dining room table, and/or coffee table). Recently while helping my last client fix her garbage disposal, fridge, and closet, I realized that my experience of being a stay at home professional and a few YouTube tutorials has really helped me become an experienced project manager. These skills allow me to go above and beyond when helping clients. When projects become out of my realm of responsibility, I bring on my team of trusted resources to get the job done!
Living by the mantra “where there is will there is a way” I am able to create an experience for my clients that they can share with their family and friends. Combining my hospitality background, tech skills, resourceful attitude, and disciplined spirit makes for a fulfilling life!
Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
The Atomic Habits by James Clear is one of the books that has made the greatest impact on me. The concept is so simple you are getting 1% better each day and over time the results you can achieve are far greater. These incremental habits can be applied in every aspect of life: saving money, eating better, exercising, etc and make a large impact overtime. The book, The One Thing by Gary Keller illustrates the power of time blocking.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
My primary way to meet new clients is through open houses which results with connecting with them on social media. I am consistent with my posting strategies, adding value and themes. Monday’s are all about market updates. Tuesdays I share a tech tip that you will find useful for your iphone or Apple laptop. “Workout Wednesdays” are about sharing workouts and inspire my friends to get their workout on. “Thing(s) to know Thursdays” I share things that are happening in San Diego, ie, when Apple purchased a campus in Rancho Bernardo for $449M. Fun Fridays are about music and I share a “House” music song that everyone needs to hear! Saturday and Sundays are often highlighting open houses I am hosting. People get a chance to connect with me on so many areas because we all have so much more in common than our differences.
